ahh, cool...
So one final re-clock after the FPGA then, nice!
Of course, that's why the incoming jitter doesn't matter, assuming no bit errors, as it's reclocked and buffered so the dam1021 clock circuit define the jitter. But the clock oscillator and FPGA have low jitter, not as low as what's possible, but low enough that the dam1021 sounds pretty damn good.... Has actually been discussed early on in this thread.
If you look very close on the dac1101 and dam1121 pictures you might notice some small flip flops between the fpga and the shift registers 🙂

It would be nice if the rev 4 of the 1021 would become more comfortably for the common end user.
E.g. the PCB could be ready for the Toslink and coax Spdif input (the user then would only need to add add the missing components on the PCB if he wants these inputs).
On the other hand, I think the ballanced buffer components need not to be on the board. Only, as for the input, the PCB should be prepared for them, so that the user can add them if needed.
An version with optional onboard USB-in as with the 1101would be nice.

I do not want us indeed make crazier than we are already, but if DAM2110 exactly go as my DAC1101, then the part is absolutely amazing!!! ;-)
How do one use mono se?
one board's two R2R decode the same channel, left or right, and sum up at the end, so there will be raw unbalanced output.. Like paralleling 1704 outputs..
Parallel left SE of board 1 with left SE of board 2 etc, and you have what you want.one board's two R2R decode the same channel, left or right, and sum up at the end, so there will be raw unbalanced output.. Like paralleling 1704 outputs..

I would rather have one clock controlling the summed channel, even the slightest drift on the other board would be disastrous for the sound in that setup.
Soekris,
I bought two of your DAcs and will work to set them up in the next weeks...
my dream-setups:
- BBB with botis and masterclock from your DAC I2S direct
- same, but even with Ian`reclocker in the chain, just to see if more is possible.
It there any way to INPUT the MAsterclock into your DAC-Design at all ? Or bapass your re-clocker for the favour of Ian`s, so usig the different section of your DAC in a more modular way ?
DIYaudio is all about experimenting and I am curious...
Best Regards

The dam1021 clock circuit is fixed, you can feed it anything you want, but the dam1021 will reclock and buffer using it's fifo.
Can anyone elaborate what is the difference between DAM1021 and DAM1121? Thanks.
A lot of differences. For detail see soekris.dk website at Soekris Engineering ApS, Products dam1021 and Soekris Engineering ApS, Products dam1121
I hope 1121 will be available soon. On the website it says availability March 31, 2016.
1121 is OEM as it seems. OEM is not DIY, so OT.
//
i remember Soren as saying that he will sell the 1121 to DIY community as well. Without quantity limitations.
Aha - great!!!
So we will see it in the Europa store soon then!
//
The website says in March 2016. Fingers crossed.
