Where's the rug PK? 🙂
If you look closely, you'll see it's a Nichicon KZ and audio caps like a much smoother blanket. Elna Silmics demand silk coverings and that makes them too expensive.😉
Are you trying to pull the wool over my eyes? 😀. . . audio caps like a much smoother blanket. 😉

Ok now seriously ....let's buy some Silmics

Double-blind is better. After night and day we expect even the wife in the kitchen heard the difference?robert2017 said:And the hearing test was blind and the difference was night and day .
Let us be completely clear about something: if there really was an audible difference between two non-faulty caps of the same value (you did check the exact value?) and the same technology then it would be a small difference - assuming that the value and technology were appropriate to that circuit position. Never night and day. Night and day is the difference between two caps of different values, or one is faulty, or both are inappropriate to that circuit position.
Be aware that physically large caps (and many 'audio' caps are large, although not all) have larger stray capacitance and interference pickup so some degradation in circuit performance may be heard, but misunderstood as an an improvement.
I guess you have never met a scientist? The BIG BIG problem with the science is that if the science can't explain something the science conclude that thing don't exist.
Be aware that describing someone who disagrees with you as a "loser" is getting dangerously close to behaviour which may cause a Moderator to feel your collar.robert2017 said:For a loser technical knowledge and experience means he thinks he know anything but the loser don't even have true speakers and a treated room so actually his believes are based mostly on theory and classical science .
Bragging is not against forum rules but merely sends a different signal than the one presumably intended. For a winner like me
Loop area is what matters, not length. But of course, you already knew this and was about to say so.So a board cooper trace that have 40cm and in which are connected 40 components will not create inductance ?. If we take into consideration that all the traces inside of an amp are measuring 10s and 10s of meters I must be punished because of 2,5 cm ?
Elna those pathological tricky liars they trick the masses into thinking silk have an effect on sound ...what a liars they are !!. I have technical prof learned in university that those silk scammers are liars and nothing but liars🙄they make those caps so big that they look like silk grenades
Ok now seriously ....let's buy some Silmics
Personally, I think Silmics lack the all elusive and often ignored aspect of sound quality... hyperbole.
Black Gates have true dementonal hyperbole! In the highs and lows.😱
This thread has provided adequate entertainment for the afternoon. I assume the mics will start dropping soonthose silk scammers are liars and nothing but liars

You may think so, but I'm still enjoying it - twisted oldThis thread has provided adequate entertainment for the afternoon.

I don't think we're going to hear back from him or see those speakers, pity.
Well, I'm off to rearrange the magic crystals on my amp and move the pyramids from one speaker to the other. There are forces at work beyond our comprehension. Powerful, scary forces! (Science can't explain).

Back to caps. Do electrolytics that are used as input/output bypass and have no dc across them need reforming?

Only if they're really bad and get sent to reform school...
Unless you're seriously asking then the answer is, no.

Be sure to observe proper safety precautions. Approved gloves, face shield and hearing protection when you move those crystals. 4' long tongs are a good idea also. Of course a fire extinguisher should always be on hand when using such powerful stuff.

Thanks, but not necessary. It's a solid state amp. 😎
You boys sure know how extract some fun from an otherwise tedious rant but I nearly choked on my dinner.
Pity. This could have been a really good thread about capacitor's accepted physical behavior... 🙁
But childish behavior (from both parts, I dare to say) made the conversation to deviate from its more noble potential goals... 😱
A pity also that most conversations about this kind of topic suffers the same destiny.
And we are supposes to be intelligent grown up man (or women; or both 😀)

Hi robert2017,
As others have suggested earlier, I'm thinking you are way out of your depth here.
Anyway, you aren't here to learn, and you will not accept the help that has been offered. I'm out of here, it is a waste of time trying to communicate with you on these matters, and you are acting as a troll even if you don't intend to.

He wasn't interested in learning or accepting help on this thread either:
I damaged my Technics SU-3500 amp
Winners also connect their main power caps the wrong way round apparently.. Jus' saying..
