Yes, that’s correct. You are using the alternative holes for soldered leads - it looks to be correct. Easy.
Well hooked the amp up flicked the switch 3 seconds Nothing!!then around 6 to 7 seconds 2 green lights lit up. The unit works Perfectly I for one can not hear anything different to the sound of the Alpha 20.
Finally put the lid on for first time Finished Amp at last.
Thank's again to all involved in supplying this bit of kit.
Regards Steve.

Nice amp Steve, and good to know that you've managed to get the speaker protection boards working too.

Thank's Gent's but I only built the box, If it was not for you guys making the boards available to make such a First Class amp i would only have a box.
I still stand by my comments as to how good this amp is.
If anyone wants to build a high quality amp without all the fuss of boutique parts or hard to get expensive parts this is the amp.
I like many of people on this forum have more than one project waiting in the wings to build (and i have more than my fair share of V-fets and other hard to get parts) but at this time have Little interest in building any other amps.
Regards Steve.

Thanks for the kind words, Wtl! The Alpha 20 is indeed a great sounding amp and so glad you like it. If you ever need more power, the new Alpha Nirvana might be of interest to you - same sound but 39w from 27v rails.
Steve,
Really sweet Alpha20 you built! The SSR boards were the icing on the cake 😀
Now time to enjoy your new amp.
Cheers

Thanks Steve, a ringing endorsement, should resonate with others building their own Class A.
A really good amp does not need unobtainium, although it looks cool and creates a sense of exclusivity. Speaking as a farmer's son, there is no utility in expensive, hard-to-source parts when a task is required; better to have good quality jelly beans to make it all work.
I offer my thanks to JPS brilliant layout, and XRK's intelligent coordination, early prototyping, and fast help to builders. Without these guys I could not produce good designs, and the market is given top quality open source DIY as a result. There are others whom I have not mentioned too, but they know their names...... thanks guys.
I might shrewdly say that this gives me a much bigger canvas too, and my own commercial products benefit hugely.

Thanks Vunce, no wonder I could not find it being in the Solid State forum, did not think to look there - now on my radar.
Yes X I noticed the new version, have checked my parts stash and of course i have nearly all the parts needed. SIGH!! I do like the fact no need for forced cooling.
I have the Alpha BB chassis sitting under the bench ready to finish.( one day )

Vunce I have been enjoying the Alpha 20 and find it has more than enough power to drive my DC Tannoys with ease...... The SSR has allowed me to finish the amp so my wife is happy to use it also.

Hugh Thank You for making such a fine amp I can only hope others will build one of your amps and find as much pleasure as i have.

I concur Steve, way too many great amps to build, where am I going to put them all - might have to stop checking here every day, as it seems a new pops up day after day😱

This is a great point Steve. We all have projects in various states of completion. I have all family members informed on how, when and which pieces of gear to power up and down. The SSR board has given me piece of mind that if the “order of operations” was accidentally breached, my speakers would be safe from any unwanted nasties.
Gary i'm almost 60 and my approach to building amps is it keeps my mind active at least thats what i tell my wife.
Steve.
Steve.
It certainly does Steve, especially when you have couple or more on the go at the same time all at different stages.
I will have to run that line past my wife.😉

Thank you Steve and Gary,
I offer my thanks to X, Vunce, and all the early birders. I'm fine for design, not so fast with building.........

Hi Hugh,
We are just lucky we get to build your gems (that seem to keep coming) and listen to their first sound.
