Re-Built Vifa Basis 95 -> 2023

Yes I'm prefering two paralels bass, but you have 122 liters, it is a lot! Beter option is smaller but very good tuned cabinet, e.g. 80 liters would be a good option for WO24P-8 and tunning port to frequency you need. An oversized box swallows up the potential of those speakers.

After all not bad at all 😎.
I leave it as it is.
Closed cabinet with the current woofers.
The 4x 10 inches produce more then enough lows 😎.

Edit: Think I'm going to put Long Hair Wool in it as damping.

for sealed box as it is now:
150 liter will be a little bit better then 122 liter
80 liter is too small -> I don't like bubbles

with current woofers 2x M25WP-00 (Vifa)

Why not leave the speakers as they are, closed and solve the problem electronically?
The Accuphase has a Tape monitor switch I guess (did you buy this at De Groef maybe?) and with electric power in abundance as well as sufficient moving surface area, you could really get these woofers dialed in, so good that it will beat any replacement woofers.
Considering you now have the chance to actually do what is most beneficial to bass frequencies: partly correct for the room.
So electronically correcting is anything from just boosting the sub frequencies a few dB`s to driving them actively with FIR equalization done. There are even services that deliver that for a small price.
This will deliver better bass than anybody you know, make lasting friends with the neighbours ,as well as actually making use of the 21st century audio solutions.

Edit:
you only miss about 8 dB tops around 26-30Hz, compared to the Satori`s. The current closed setup has a-3dB point at 50 Hz, a first order filter boost would give 6 dB boost around 25 Hz.

It`s not that hard to incorporate this passively in a tape loop and you might have a switchable, very enjoyable option when you want a little more deep end.

Ho Mterbekke,

Thx for your reply!

I bought the E-380 in HiFi shop @ Roermond.

https://www.accuphase.com/model/e-380.html

I leave the speakers as it is with the current beautifull classic Vifa M25WP-00 / 8 Ohm woofers.
First I'll try to solve it by closing the ports and damp with approx 20-25 grams of long hair wool per liter.
There is enough lows here in my room with 4x 10 inches.
Already closed the ports at the moment but not install the wool yet, I'll do that today.
Sounds already much better, the bubble is nearly gone.

What you mean by electronically? Active with extra plate amp?
I have stereo Pre-out on the E-380.
I have good experience with that in previous project in the past.
But I prefere to go for a satisfied passive solution.

At the moment 500% flexible and suitable for:
  • ported
  • sealed
  • bi-wiring
  • lows active
  • lows passive
Edit: To be added for now in actual (sealed+passive+non-bi-wiring) option -> 3kg long hair wool each cabinet.

For so far it's going pretty well with some power without the wool.
I hope I'll get the wool tomorrow for the fine tuning.

Hi Savan.

For sealed box as it is now:
150 liter will be a little bit better then 122 liter (mostly flat)
80 liter is too small -> I don't like bubbles and will decrease lows.
See also simulations.

With current woofers 2x M25WP-00 (Vifa).

Maybe it would be too low to be heard, that part of the low part that would be maybe heard better in a smaller box would very possibly be heard less in 150 litres box, but ok, nothing is impossible. Tastes and hearing are diffrent : )

Hi Mterbekke I ordered a Hypex Fusion FA252 to do some tests.
A little bit boost at the lowest frequency's should be nice.
As you mentioned around 25Hz.

I'll use my Stereo Pre-out of my Accuphase E-380 for the signal to the FA252.
From the FA252 I can directly connect (without crossover) to the parallel 2x10 inch woofers for each channel.
