That includes me, to a fair degreeBut the fact is most users would not know how to install/configure a general-purpose linux distribution to create a single-purpose appliance.
phofman,
Thanks for the link to set up two sound cards but I'm having difficulties with it. May I seek your assistance when I get to configuring it, please?
That's what these forums are for. Probably a separate thread would do since it is not directly related to PAX.
New release 1.25 with minor bugfixes.
Just released version 1.25 with some minor bugfixes. All of the bugs only were reported by a single person each so obviously nobody else seemed to suffer fom them 😀

New release 1.26 with minor bugfix.
While I was at it, I hunted down and fixed another bug that caused 100% CPU usage on one CPU core while the output's frequency response was shown.

Update 30 seconds later. I ran this in terminal (from Tfive's website);
and then went to Update Manager and the update happened.wget https://t-5.eu/debian/pubkey.txt -O - | sudo apt-key add -
sudo bash -c "echo deb Index of /debian repo main > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/t-5.eu.list"
sudo apt-get update
You only need to add the key and the repository once. From then on a "apt-get update && apt-get upgrade" will do the trick. In Linux mint you can also use the update manager and it should also notify you automatically about any updates that are available.
The Update Manager didn't work until I ran the code from your website. I had run it to install PAX Rack.You only need to add the key and the repository once. Is "apt-get update && apt-get upgrade" advice on your website?
I will test it tomorrow with one USB sound card after generating frequencies in Audacity.
"apt-get update" corresponds to refresh in update manager.
"apt-get upgrade" corresponds to install updates in update manager.
This has nothing to do with PaXoverRack especially but is common Linux knowledge.
You missed to refresh your sources, that's why you didn't see the update immediately.
Update manager refreshes your sources periodically (i think every 6h) and then checks for available updates. It worked immediately for you because the last line "apt-get update" refreshed your sources.

IIUC you did not have the repository with PaXoverRack packages included in your configuration (the file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/t-5.eu.list).
I think what's more likely is that he missed to press the refresh button in the update manager.
The repository should have already been set up or otherwise he would not have been able to install PaXoverRack in the first place.

Nope, I always click on the refresh button, as I did then, because nothing was listed for updating.I think what's more likely is that he missed to press the refresh button in the update manager.

Then actually your repository was not yet setup. Wonder how you installed the software then?

The repository setup was the first thing I did and it is still listed. Strange (but true).
Well, either you removed the repository again after installing, you missed to refresh the sources or the packaged management system did not pick up the changes in my repository. The latter I find very hard to believe as apt is usually very reliable...
For those who are wondering why the repository/page is down: I moved to a new flat and the cable line there has no public IPv4 address yet. Should be resolved by tomorrow.
Minor update 1.27:
Code:
pulseaudio-crossover-rack (1.27) stable; urgency=low
* features:
- allow adding a filter by just choosing it from the combobox and
get rid of the "+" button

Tfive, may I ask for a special filter? I do not know if that is possible easily - but I would like to have this - http://elias.altervista.org/html/SingleSpeakerStereo.html stereo matrix. I can do the L+R part with gain🙂 Is there any smart way on how to do the L-R? I finally have a multichannel soundcard and I would like to experiment a bit with this setup. Thanks🙂
