Presenting the Trynergy - a full range tractrix synergy.

That Faital Pro looks great. Your wooden struts may be causing some cancellation as they are parallel bars or edges. 4 point wire suspension can work too.

You are right, it is also just a test because I go like it is original meant from a king named X, a wideband trynergy, but with these days it is just some little experimentations.

I go make the tangerine tomorrow, because how wider it go the better when use it with a extra tweeter, who can be smaller, maybe even when try to use one with a small magnet, the back has to be pointy.

I go use wire if i do go the new way, but the midbass is still a problem with a lower efficienty, so when do things for nothing is not my goal, a lower sensityvy because of the bass/mid will give a box with a extreme clean sound because the most critical is the horn itself with his very low distortion.

regards

You need to set the Trynergy on top of a bass horn or in mouth of one. Recall my fondness of the University Classic with an 18in pro woofer? 108dB.
Run Uni Classic 50Hz (98dB) but 108dB by 70Hz. Up to 400Hz xo.

You now, horns eat space? I can make them so big I can live in it? like a kitchen in the compression chamber😀

We need compromises, that makes it such a nice course.

I listened to some albums that sounded bad until now, for example Lee Clayton - Naked child. Previous system or my cheap Panasonic or Sony headphones can not reproduce correctly the sound, it's full of breakups. I thought that something was wrong with the recording.

Listening to this 'coaxial' horn+tweeter is just another story. Very detailed sound, no harshness at all. All very liquid..

Maybe a way could be to use just some wood guides like in some Iwata horn or Tad horns (to create virtual cells like the big multicells horns) ?

A simplier way to putt a non invasive tweeter in a horn while staying with a 2" driver at the apex could be a K-horn pipe tweeter : just a tube and I assume the phase beginns as well at the apex of this tube that coul be outside of the main horn if the tube is slighty bended (to go trough the top wall e.g. to allow to load the pipe with a tweeter a 3/4" size from ScanSpeak classic line...

(PS : but for me, I am on the camp of the BBC curve and even more than -6 DB id good for me : casual listening and better tonal balance on acoustical instruments... I surmise also to not have my 15 years old ears anymore ! 10F cone driver should be good enough for me ! Maybe an aêx at the size of the cone would help ? 6cm apex instead 5cm (2") ? )

I did read about it thanks, I presume that the pipe go not on the apex but further on, where the tweeter voicecoil do are in line with the two inch.

I do not read how efficient this pipe tweeters are but see on some (very nice) pictures that it is inpemented on a tractrix.

This is idea after I have test the tangerine.

I had same experience. Some CDs which I thought were just unlistenable - now sound great - they were minimally processed early 1950's Jazz.

Here is the measurement of a Visaton FRS8M in a 220hz Fc tractrix horn (throat area 25cm2). I am using a Panasonic capsule as microphone, so no calibration.

Maybe something is wrong with measurement.. those phase wraps look bad. I will do more Holm reading..

I have tryed to post a video of the horn with music of Elvis Presley, however it was already blocked before it was uploaded.

it is a shame that such old music is blocked while patents do end in 25 years.

correction, have put in complain and it is free now, for here I mean, do not now in usa.

Works for me - sounds great Kees! Nice work - looks like the K tube tweeter was the key. Nice sound.
