ZM, how is the parameter for matching LDRs? In a range of what percentage?
Based on your experience, how much you have to buy to have one (two) quite good quartet?

well - pcbs are made for balanced ; it's easy to make unbalanced - omitting 4 LDRs ( then just two pairs are needed , not two quartets) , and installing few shorties 😉
regarding buffers - then you need just sets of parts for two channels , not four as for balanced
PSUs stays the same

Guido - I really can't answer to that ; I had quantity of 172 pcs , and in start of matching procedure values ( in 3 different current points ) they were everywhere .......
on end of measuring procedure , and after sorting in Excell , just one was way out of range ; another one was ( logically ) odd ; all other ones were used for quartets , and I made just 6 or 7 pairs .
...so it's only matter of finding some pals to share LDRs with...
RS Components in Italy sell them for 1,58Eur/pc. (plus VAT) for 50 pcs, your estimate of 20Eur for 2 quartet is veeery reasonable...
except for the fun of matching
😀 😀
