Last touch to the DV-563A. I install new feet, made of maple, finish with bee wax. There is an insulation layer on top made of some rubber I had. The bottom is cut from a mouse pad, to add further vibration insulation and protect the furniture 😎
I had to cut the small front plastic plate that was acting like a feet of some sort. Not a big loss 😀

Has anyone upgraded the stock clock to an aftermarket version. Any differences??? I hear this unit has very low jitter and doesnt need a clock????
i just got one of these guys...
...and i would be much obliged to anyone who has docs, schematics, etc.

I've changed the clock in mine, and it has made a difference. The circuit and design is custom and can't be shared. Sorry. The clock is 27mhz.
hi guys, can somebody help with a copy of the schematics im doing the Vinnie R. upgrades (Ps &,DAC), and need the schematics to upgrade the video side.
Thanks

DV-565/563 schematics for mods, please
Hi!
I am interested on schematics for DV-565A or DV-563A (same players).
I will do some mods and upgrades as described in this excellent thread.
I also intend to build completely new analog stage PCB board (dual monaural DACs, better OPamps, separate power supply, ...) and new 27Mhz clock gen.
All schematics will be publicly released.
Thanks

Anyone know how I can clean the spinning motor on the 563 player or a source for the transport.
My player have problem spinning.
I did not remove/replace any of the components.
What I've done was cutting a little hole at the bottom of my case yesterday so that I can use browndog adaptor for the opamp.
I removed the power pcb, digital pcb and analog pcb. I covered the rest of the player with kitchen wrap and seal it with tape down brown paper. Basically other than the cutting area, other part of the player is covered. Cut the hole with Dremel and vacuumed off the dust. Clean the uncovered area with a piece of clothe. Removed the covering and vacuumed all area again and this including the transport area. After putting everything back the player is having problem starting the spin. It is fine 40% of the time but not the rest. I can hear the motor trying to spin but there's no movement. And if I give it a gentle push it will go without problem. I guess something must have got into the motor even after I cover everything up, or maybe my vacuuming hard over the transport is not a good thing.
Will be most appreciated if anyone know where I can get a replacement transport for the Pioneer player cheap or know how to fix this problem.
TIA,
Sam

Hello All,
WOW this thread has gone on a long time! I am new to the board although I have been following this thread for the better part of 8 months or so.
I have replaced caps and op-amp to an OPA2604 as outlined by Vinnie. While I feel the sound has improved, I'm just still not impressed. Perhaps this would be a good time to hop into the world of tubes?
Nic - Would there be any chance that you could share your setup for the tube output stage?
Also, could anyone share with me the schematics for the DAC / Analog stages of the DV-563a? I would be most grateful!

You probably don't want to hear this, but maybe 2604 isn't the best op-amp for the job (I use it in my cdp and have strong doubts about it's musicality). Have a look at this thread for alternative suggestions:

Are your op-amps appropriately bypassed? CarlosFM covers this in the above thread.
About you not being impressed, I will take a leap and guess it doesn't play music too well... Have you tried using cones instead of the standard feet? This can help a lot, if you like natural sound. Maybe a touch of bitumen for chassis damping is in order too, but please don't overdo it, as it can suck the life away.

Hi
Just become a member so havent seen this thread before.
Been modifying the DV 565 (UK number) for some time along
the same lines as in the previous posts. One additional idea
that has been tried is to run a Stevens & Billington Transformer
Volume control direct from the DSD 1791. It sounds superb best
yet. Only problem was this is into valve amplification. Ive not yet
plucked up courage to try it into my Tripath!

differential output
Hi All,
I have had one of 563A since it first came out and am thinking it might be time to make some additions to it. To further that end, if someone could email me the service manual Iwould greatly appreciate it.
I am hoping to take the differential outputs from the main channel DAC to a differential tube circuit. I just got a DCX2496 and I would like a hotter, balanced analog out stage. Seem like a good idea? Bad idea? Alternatives? What sort of filter would I need in such a circuit?
Would also like to try some of the simpler power supply mods mentioned elsewhere in this thread.
Thanks much for any info/ideas.
Michael

563 service manual
I wuold like to follow some of the 563 upgrades discussed in this thread, but to be able to do this consistently I need a service manual.
can anyone send it to me? Thanks in advance.
my e-mail is: joao.yazbek@uol.com.br

No more DVD-A/SACD player modding necessary....soon almost any universal player will output both DVD-A as well as SACD in full quality.. I'm currently in a prototyping phase, it will however take at least two months to finish..
Hello, I've got a question that hopefully someone could answer.
Is there any easy way to take the differential outputs from the DSD1791(or any other DAC with differential voltage outputs for that matter), run them through a tube stage, and be able to output them in a standard, unbalanced type of setup? I'd like to get away from OPamps entirely, but am still new enough at this that I'm not sure how one would go about that, if it's even possible to do easilly. Any input would be appriciated! Thanks

Hi,
just got a 563 on ebay and am ready to mod.
If somebody has got a PDF of the service manual and would be willing to share I would be very grateful.
My email is g.fella@lineone.net
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Vibration-Final Steps
Can I use this instead ? Are they better or worse than the bitumen sheet ?

Also, how effective would be rope caulk as compared to these materials ? Something like this -

Algar_emi said:Here the vibration of the frame taking care of. I used multiple layers of bitumen style sheet and polyethane glue to fill the multiples grooves of the frame. Before it was ringing like a bell. Now it is dead 😀
Algar_emi said:Here the 2nd and third (and final) of vibration absorption layers. The last layer cover all the bottom. Just a half shown to show the second layer.

Hi!
I was out at a local store the other day, looking for a dv575a, but I found a left over 565 instead. I got a good deal on it so I bought it.🙂
So now I wondered if anybody would care to share the schematics of the dv565/ dv563 with me?
I would be more than grateful!
Thanks
Tor Martin🙂
