I was scrolling through pages looking at everyone's projects, pictures, etc... It's incredible in just 10 years (when also looking at other threads) how the level of craftsmanship has gone up. I'm impressed by many of these projects! Some may say they just want the amp, preamp functional and that when the lid is closed, no one can see and they're right... But I do care and I know what's inside the amp. It's just the extra care, the time to make it all tidy and clean.
Anyways, probably just me being crazy, right? 🙂

For what it's worth (i.e., not much), I agree with you. There are people here who set a very high bar in terms of project performance, layout and cosmetics, and it's hard not to feel challenged to do better when examining their work. I'm very grateful for the friendship and support that the diyAudio community provides, and when I read about and see photos of projects that exceed "commercial grade" I'm encouraged to hold myself to a higher standard.
Pretty damn cool.
Regards,
Scott

Pride in workmanship will never go out of style. It’s value is what drives some, not others but it will never disappear. I look for it always and yes, I see more of it than ever in these pages
