@Tony :
Looks good preamp .
I think the sound may be better with carbon resistors , especially resistors signal .
i do use carbon composition resistors as grid stoppers......
My C3G spud headphone amplifier is finally finished and playing music.
- C3G triode wired running at 145V / 15mA
- Cathode bias with tightly matched Morganite resistors and BG N bypass caps
- (yes, there is still people preferring a conventional setup over LED bias , but only when Black Gates are used)
- Salas SSHV2 with LC prefilter
- DC heaters
- Lundahl LL1689 wired 18:1
- custom wound toroid mounted on top
- all the guts underneath
Absolutely dead silent (Pitch Black background... ).
Wow amazing work, congrats
After tracking down a noise issue I finally got this one working. I won't say I'm done with it but it is going to stay this way for awhile.
6N1P Broskie CCDA driving TJ 205D parafeed. 205D is at 350V/20mA/-20V cathode bias. 6N1P is at 165V/5mA/-3V unbypassed cathode bias. MQ BCP-15 plate choke and EXO-35 iron (yeah I know...5k:8 on 205D...feels good man). Many parts were salvaged from previously dismantled projects so there's some battle scars underneath. If I could completely redo it I'd figure out a way to make the wiring a little more tidy but all things considered I'm happy with how it turned out.

Very nice build! But... why I don't trust cable ties holding heavy capacitors with high voltage on them, in hot environment?
I used anchors with screws so no adhesive delamination (if you've had an accident with this method then please say so). The amp runs barely warm as well, a little less than 80VA total consumed on a 17x12x3 by 6mm thick aluminum chassis with vents directly over the resistors dissipating heat and holes in the bottom plate to allow convection path. 1 watt per channel output with 80 watts consumed, yes, almost enough for headphones.

Thanks to all of you!
I got it from a german tube shop from ebay, if you want i can send you a link. I am not sure if its allowed to post it here officially.
I will take more photos, i first have to get another camera.
Watchfels666, nice job! Where did that toroid cover come from?

Wachtfels666, nice work! You should take a photo of the EM84s working!

Very nice!
And your wiring is absolutely fine to me...
Tony, do you sell any of the stuff you build ?
as a rule i do not offer to sell my stuff, but if someone wants to, i can accommodate......i need to roll funds so i can continue building stuff....

from left to right....7N7 Aikido, 5670-12AU7 Aikido, 6CG7-6GU7 Aikido.....will roll preamps....
Same type of Japanese Animals, but which sound better?
Tell us please, we deserve some sound's comments....
Congratulations
