Re: JEL 300b
You have a bunch of goodies on the top deck, How about a peek under the copper. Looks great. How is the sound? Is it playing yet or still on the bench?
Shawn.

Re: Here's my bottom!!
Briney, those transformers look very expensive but very nice.

No sir! James is a true audio bargain. If those are 6123HS (5K 20 watt) Euphonia Audio's current price is $205 USD/pair.

But they look so hot?
James
The James are from Euphonia. They are much much better the Hammonds. The best part is the opts were a christmas present from
the wife!!

Single ended pure class A, experimented 2 years ago. 50W output, 200W consumption, brilliant sound, flat from 10 Hz to 200 KHz. You may see a white blower from microwave beneath the heatsink, once I forgot to switch it on and got output FET unsoldered... 😉
A tube is from TV, Compactron with a high mu triode inside and a power pentode, I connected it as a triode.

Horn loaded isobaric subwoofer, will be finished soon. I am going to check it ower the entire frequency band before covering by memory-foam and a leather imitation vinyl for some remained resonances and air leakages..

Line array stereo speakers, 300W nominal each, wide horisontal dispersion, 50-22000 Hz. I use them from 80 Hz because despite of careful damping and hardening of long surfaces they are very long anyway...

Guitar power amp with solid state regulators, made about 2 years ago for home studio recordings, 2x 6L6G and 6N1P
Back it up mister...
You gotta tell us what the @#$% is goin down with post 1271 ????
Nice work man! Rock on!

Thanks man!
The thumb stays in the garage waiting for the really cold winter. 😀
About a kilowatt of a heat for 2x100W of output power is too much for a summer time...

And I am busy with this one now, I need something good with 500W of continuous sinusoidal output power on 2 Ohms to power my new subwoofer.

Re: Re: Re: Back it up mister...
Nothing special inside, just a power supply to generate heat, plus some 8 NPN transistors to make temperature independent of sound volume, plus some 8 FET repeaters to heat the heatsink more, and couple of double triodes with really red hot cathodes and filaments. Also, it has couple of magic eyes, since it replaces a fireplace it need to have something to look at... 🙄
