It is thick (1/4") solid aluminum plate which I finished with a wire
brush then sanded down a bit. I found a company which sells ends
on Ebay (company name is 80/20) and something like this costs
about $25 shipped. This actually turned out to be a bit
of a pain, as normal fittings aren't designed for anything this thick.
I couldn't under-mount the tube sockets, for example, so KT-88
tubes look silly.

Baby Ongaku
Just finished my first tube build. It is Gordan Rankin's Baby Ongaku as a stereo rather than monoblocks. I used Magnequest ES-025 output transformers and a Hammond power trannie. The design was inspired by amps from Don Garber of Fi.

Very Interesting SS rectifier, very cool, I bet you can just switch back and forth with your mood.
Yes i can Mark.
I've used ss diodes just to get the right B+; but, yes, it's nice to change the sound of an amp with so little effort.

eeehmm
where is the diagram?
I'm interested, I've made some cirquits with diodes and tubes and both..
There are some very nice tube-amps around here.
Very inspiring.
Couldn´t resist to build one by myself.
It´s the "triodino" 2A3 design.

Hi Miwi,
What did you use for your transformer covers? Are those
commercial products, like the Lundahl covers, or something
you worked out yourself?
Also, what is the chassis made from? It looks like cast aluminum.
Great looking amp.

Hi.
Yes. A heavy brassplatter, 4 springs and a housing+aluminium topplate.
I welded the covers of the transformers from rectangular steeltubes.
After putting the transformers in, I poured resin into the "cans".
The chassis is bend and welded 3mm aluminium. Sanded an finished with clear-coat.
