Pedja Rogic 1541A DAC Custom-Wound Transformer European Union Group Purchase

Hi,

Antrim are going to post the order and then tell me exactly what is was and charge my CC accordingly. Michi was going to get the 4 Germany orders and post them on - should be a saving? If not, I can get them sent individually.

Payment will either be by PayPal in GBP or I'll see if I can get the IBAN for one of my accounts for direct transfers in GBP.

HTH

Jon

Sun's out today! 😎

Just one address to go (Calimero) for shipment.

Germany orders.........

...have all gone to Michi who will send on to you all.

Michi will settle the total with me and sort the Euro funds out with you guys. I've been emailing him, but do drop me a line if you want a copy of the Antrim invoice etc.

Cheers

Important!!

Guys,

I have just been comparing the trafo label with the colour scheme in one of my letters to Antrim.

The appears to be a difference in labelling. If the trafo label is indeed the order of secondary output, then the 2 x 18v secondaries are in a different place from where I specified, but no great deal really. If I go by the colour code in the old letter, then I am really confused.

Anyhow, please get a meter on your trafo before you connect it up. I think the label will be correct, but we need to be sure.

I'd call Antrim tech, but it's gone half 6 on a Friday eve.

To those connecting up this weekend, please keep the rest of us in the loop.

Thanks! :xeye:

Secondaries

Hi All,

Leo has measured the secondaries and they match trhe PCB. :lifesavr:

I have just emailed Antrim to confirm the current ratings are as specced. I suspect this is just a labelling error and I will get a pen-amendment issued to you as soon as I get confirmation that the current ratings are in the correct order (for the 9V secondaries).

Cheers

Jon

Labelling

Hi All,

OK - I was not aware that Antrim policy is to label their trafos with the winding order - highest current rating first. This does not reflect the order in which the secondaries exit the casing.

I've learned something here......:xeye:

Leo has done some measurements of one of the transformers.

These are non loaded voltages

Purple + Purple 24v

Green + Green 9.87v

Grey + Blue 9.94v

Red + Yellow 9.94v

Pink + Orange 9.92v

Green + Purple 9.96v

Blue + Grey 19.92v

Red + Yellow 19.90v

Many thanks for the payements received - I'll work out a spreadsheet and send the final accounts out when I have them done.

Cheers

Jon

Hi Guys,

I had chance to try the transformer this morning with Pedja's dac.

Before I go any further please remember to make sure that Purple + Purple is for the -supply for the dac board and the green is for the Reclocker😉 because the Purples are on the end don't go plugging them into the Reclocker by mistake or it could take the diodes out

Any way, the transformer seems to be working fine, the secondary voltages have hardly even dropped on the loads so its obvious this thing has more than enough juice to run the dac.

As also noticed by Pedja and Gary the polarity of the secondaries for the Reclocker make a difference to the sound and its the same with this Antrim transformer so I'd recommend you try it yourself.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend which way is best because the pair is Green🙄

Thanks again to Jon for sorting this thing out for us, I now need to build or buy another case because the Antrim takes up more room than my multiple trannys😀
