PCB order for Goldmun clone

Hi guys,

please check the GB update report for your orders. That is what the report is for. deanoUK, @lf, your orders are processed.

Nagys,
Can't really understand what you are asking? All holes will be drilled, of course. Tell me what your worries are?

Hi vdi,

I have not been updating the state report as regularly as I should have because I had been busy doing the pcb and further the design has been changing drastically since my last report on 29 Oct. I just want to get a more 'update' price so as not to surprise the buyers but I cannot keep asking my vendor like everyday.

So I have not been doing update for 5 days but I don't think that has anything concerning you right? You are not even on the list of buyers (as far as I can see and if I did not miss any of the orders). Just wondering why you are asking for that. Of course the boards are not yet ready. This is a group buy, not mall-shopping. How can I have boards ready for buyers (maybe I should get some slack and sell it, but I would not be asking the same price as that for GB) . If you are serious of getting these boards and want to see how they are first before buying them, you might have to wait for the second round of group buy but I can't tell when that is going to be. But if you are adventurous, you are always welcome to sent an order to my email address.

All buyers
I should have a confirm price before tonight and I would have the report posted then. Hope nobody is annoyed because of my 'laziness'.

Krzysztof,
Your paypal a/c is not on my file yet. You are the first few to place order so what is holding you up?

Hi Agisthos,
When we shipped things out from HKSAR by air, packages like pcbs will be treated as documents (whatever the name) and had just 2 rates : Zone 1, Zone 2. Zone2 is slightly more expensive (say for a 300g package, the difference is about US0.40). All SEA are in zone 1 and goes as far as Afghanistan (but not Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq) on the west, Indonesia Singapore.. (not Australia) on the south, China (not Russia) on the north and last Japan, Taiwan, Korea on the east. Australia is in Zone 2

As I had declare earlier, all postage will be consider as being mailed to Zone 2. Say for 3 pair orders in Zone 1, the buyer will be overcharge by US$1.20 for shipping. Hope that is not too annoying.

Any other way will be more expensive and if the parcel is not overweight, I will stay with this method. I am not too sure what is the upper limit of the weight on this method but I had send something like 950g at this rate before. And that covers most of our buyers.

Since I do not have the exact weight of the boards, I weighted an old board (DS) and ratio it to our boards dimension. But of course I had add some slack just to be safe. I can never say that the shipping charge is exactly what it should be but hopefully is acceptable by most buyers.

Since you are asking about the mailing, I would also like to make a statement here :
The registered mail service is not a 100% warranty (what happen if the cargo crash). It just said that we can have some sort of compensation if the receipent do not receive the parcel. Further, the max compensation for a parcel is about HK$330 which is roughly about US$40 - $45 which cannot cover everything if you had a 2 pair order. If you are ordering for 2 pairs and your parcel is lost (the odds are small but I cannot say it never happen) that's all the compensation you will be getting. I hope you can understand that is not my fault. For 3 pairs or more orders, I strongly suggested to split it into 2 or more parcels and spread the risk. Registered mail will bear charges @ US$2 / parcel.

Or would it be even better if we just take 1 pair as the standard and charge accordingly on multiple pairs. I will have it figured out and listed how much the difference will be.

Although the chances of losing the parcel is thin, I still have to stated every possible risk so we don't have to argue when that really happen.

If anyone find that this is unacceptable, please withdraw from the GB now. Hope I am not driving people away with this declaration.

Now it's only the payment that remain.
Will it eventually show up a claim on our given e-mail address, or do we send money to your email address?
I hope that the gift to Alex is taken into account. He deserves a fair reward for his excellent work with the PCB.

Hello BigPanda,
I have a question about pricing.... I see that price is $35 per pair and shipping is $6.50 per pair. I am ordering 2 pair. So that would be $70 for the 2 pair of boards, and 13.00 for shipping which comes out to $83.00, correct? In the GB under my name I see $81 for the boards, and for the boards plus shipping, $90. Am I correct in reading this? Do I pay the $81, $83, or $90? Is the extra money going towards the boards for Alex? Please clarify.
Thanks, Daniel

Hi Dan,

The "Total charge a)" ($81) column is the charge for the very 1st version of the board.

The "Charge for New board b)" ($90) column is the charge for the new board (which will be the latest one) and was cal. like this : you know your $83 and goes (83+2)/.95 where the $2 is registered mail charge (/ parcel) and the /.95 is the additional 5% paypal charge. And then I take it to the next dollar which come out to be $90.

The "RM charges at $2 / pair" column is the charge for sending individual pair (in your case, 2) in order to "insure' the full value (or almost) of the parcel in case of lost mail as explain in Post #190 to Agisthos. In your case, it would be (83 + 2 + 2)/.95 and take it to the next $ would be $92 .

Hope that is not too confusing.

Forget thisl :

Adding all the slacks up should be good enough for 1 or 2 extra pairs. I think I will round up the quantity ordered (the current order now is 226 pcs) to 230 - 250 pcs to get some spares (or whatever you might call it) If anyone lost his parcel, I can resend them (I will keep the compensation from the post office). But if there is no loss, I will sell them (hopefully I could sell a couple of pairs in the forum) .
