Assuming by that you mean increasing bias to increase output/distortion?Either amp can be easily adjusted for more or less gain....
"From the spec sheet for IRF9520 it show maximum dissipation of 60W.", quote from @KevinHeem, so heat dissipation being 1 issue I would guess the PS could be another limiting factor?
Did you mean IRFP9140? The heatsinks are another limiting factor if you increase the bias current.
Probably, did a quick google to come up w/ the previous quote, looking at the original article as well as the "Essentials Kit" aren't the outputs IRF520/9520s? Wouldn't these be the devices that set the max output you can design for?Did you mean IRFP9140

Irfp140 and 9140, Harris P ch versions of course...
Shipping in a few days. Two kits, essentials and completion. Eessentials are two channels pcb plus semis plus power
supply pcb and Completion kits is everything else that goes on PC boards plus mounting hardware.

Rochester has been cleaned off of Harris 9240 and 9140 (thousands).
Must be Nelson or DIYA ?

Number 99 on list of Why I NEED A New Amp: I have a chassis in need of a tenant.
I have been bench testing dual 24V MeanWell LRS-150F SMPS supplies on the F5m. On my test bench, with the stereo channels powered on for several days, I found that both SMPS supplies had shut down due to some kind of fault.
This might be a problem using two or more SMPS supplies that do not synchronize their behavior. Fortunately, the F5m channels survived whatever occurred.
This indicates another advantage with linear power supplies.

one B+ on out is a big problem :/ need relay syncro at last , as linear can lost bridgeI have been bench testing dual 24V MeanWell LRS-150F SMPS supplies on the F5m. I do not know. The supplies do not have the most desirable airflow, so that could be the problem. How hot did the power supplies get in this several days test?
I need to check if my digital thermometer can record max temperature and try the test again.
Needs a simple circuit that integrates easily with the AC power switch. Relay(s) or triacs?one B+ on out is a big problem :/ need relay syncro at last , as linear can lost bridge
The Meanwell LRS series is the least expensive of their chassis mount SMPS. There are other models that might be worth trying.
I used the the RSP-150-27 in one of my ACA builds. It was a step up from the 24V brick that comes with the the ACA kit, if not quite as good as the linear supply that I use today.

Another +1 vote for the RPS series. I have two RPS-200-27Cs in my TDV build and they work great, even with 4x10K uF CRC on the output. I do not use them in series for +/- output, but they have been confirmed to work well in such a fashion in the Neurochrome Modulus threads.
