that's Fugly!
including that funny pre left on the bench and that funny Bose spk left top
(have 2 pairs of these, different era, in Daughter's room ; in fact , she is having Roommates, along with Hafler pre , more than 10yrs now - as core of her kid system)
btw. Sauce is still hot 🙂
Hahahahah Zen! I just can't give up those roomates I bought them in Japn in 1989 they've been all over the world with me, and they dont sound half bad with that funny-pre!
Glad the sauce is still hot, that's the point. You too Dennis😀
Version 3
Tis the season for small Class A! It sounds so good, I think its a candidate for a proper chassis. Few specs: 51V rail, 20.5V D-GND, 1.75V across R4, 500W/120VAC Halogen sticks. I'm late to the party as usual...much appreciated NP!

Nice John!! I'm listening to mine right now on some Klipsch bookshelf speakers, my creation is a bit too sloppy to be in the livingroom with 2 kids and 3 dogs - wifey won't take kindly to zapping them... anyway I LOVE THE SOUND! Even on mediocre speakers.
@ Zen just snagged some jensen x-formers been binging old Papa Burning amp talks I'm thinking Singning Bush for my next big build can a korg B1 or ACP+ drive it?

Thanks! I'm in the same boat...most of my creations are not allowed out of the man-cave
Jeff - great to see the new build! Absolutely fantastic.
Hope you're well, and that we can get together sooner rather than later. I need me some more of that sauce!
Enjoy 😀

Hi Patrick! The build is just in the try"sheet"out stage😀 So Fun I'm listening to it right now

My De-Lite 2.0
Built a second supply of 4 16mF caps, 1ohm resistor, and bridge rectifier. Now the De-Lite is clear, detailed, and vivid. The music has life! Today it is cool here so the voltage is 119.8V coming from the wall yesterday in the sweltering 105° heat our power company lowers the voltage to 115V and those 4-5volts make a huge difference in biasing the amp. I find this amp to be quite source dependant giving little very little latitude to bad recordings. It likes my CD player just fine but not so much dac. Haven't been able to bring her together with vinyl yet but she sure makes my old Forte speakers sing. Now to rebuild properly in hopes of a, albiet temporary, spot in the living room. I'll post some more pics when done.

I'm just getting started on my first build using MOSFETs, and I chose the DE-LITE.
I'm going to use 80V and the IXTH16N20D2. The power supply will be CRC - 36mF -> 1R -> 36mF. It will be driven by a CCDA circuit and I will include a turn on delay where the output of the CCDA and the MOSFET stage are grounded at turn on to avoid both a thump on the speakers and a high voltage spike appearing at the MOSFET gate.
I could only find 300W 130V bulbs... They are also long life. Any idea how that will effect things?
Here's a schematic. Anyone see any issues?

I tested it without the MOSFETs in circuit, but the 47k in place. I get a spike of over 35V on power on, and a reversal of -5V without the relay, and 0.01V with it on both power on and off 🙂 So far so good! I'm just waiting for the lamp holders now.
kodabmx, I use these boards, and they have been working great. Anyway, thank you so much for your DC/DC converter thread.

Fugly!
Did you get the bulbs from Home Depot? Philips 300W?
I just took a closer look at the marking on the socket and you're right - it says 130V/300W.

I think it looks rather good really...
The bulbs are Satco... https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B000V50XOM

Two extracts about light bulbs from articles by Mr. Pass and Mr. Rothacher.
You need verify bulb resistance as well not only power/nominal voltage
Have a nice Sunday 🙂
