I never checked if amp still came on when I pulled Q216 just checked the transistor and I thought it checked good? There is a trace going from the base of Q216 which I could cut and repair easily could I try that first? Or would that be of no help? Thanks 🙂There is no difference if K501 coil is 24V (Q216 collector voltage) or 0V (Q216 pulled out). So, can you pull out relay and check it?

You can try this or remove one pin R230 to save your tracks 🙂, or simply remove Q216 collector pin.
Hi,
If pin 1 of CD4013B it is high that will enable the relay. Ground pin 1 of the CD4013B to see if it disable the relay. If pin 1 it is high it will enable Q217. We need a zero at the base of Q217.

I lifted leg of r230 and now, the amp does not come on when plugged in and I checked pin 1 a while ago and it had 0volts. Is this an idicator that Q216 is bad? the voltage is the same on the collector and base?

When I plug amp in, I have zero volts at pin 1 but, once I push the power button I then have 12v at pin 1 but pushing it again does not change it back to zero I have to unplug to get zero agan
Now I am lost. Solder back the resistor and with power amplifier ON ground the point between the resistor R247 and R255. That will tell you if Q217 & Q216 and Q214 are working OKAY. It will enable and disable the relay when you ground the connection between the two resistors.

Please check D224 diode
I'm slow at this I did what he said but did not turn off amp? Please check D224 diode
diode checks normal in boardI'm slow at this I did what he said but did not turn off amp?
When i plug amp in no volts on pin 1 till i push power button but, pushing it again will not remove 12 v from pin 1 I plug it in it plays fine without even pushing power button?
no turn off grounding pin 1?I do not think it will hurt anything since the output from the CD4013B it is zero and 15 volts.
i will check itHi,
What it is the voltage at the base of Q217?
