How much are you guys willing to pay? See attached price list for the Scan-Speak waveguide (5" / version-A). CNC from aluminium, black anodized.

Ok, I'll try to set up some sort of a group buy or similar. Need to work out the best way to deal with customs/VAT/duties that would get charged from shipping to me and then again during delivery to you guys.
Good idea, I'm in for a pair
JC
I would be interested as well
Group buy thread is here. Please add your names to the list and send me a PM with your details.
@augerpro
Would you mind testing Visaton WG with SB26 textile dome, even with original alu faceplate. Due to smaller dome and surround compared to D3004, if dip is moved higher, that would make a killer budget combo.
edit: another DiyA member used Morel Tweeter with WG148 for a surprisingly good result:
full build: Seas L15RLY/P with Morel DMS30s in Visaton WG148R
Thanks

On the High End Munich show next week SB Acoustics will release a "constant directivity Waveguide version of SB26 softdome".
I read this on their poster in the most recent Voice Coil release.

If you look carefully its not bigger than mw13, actually I'd say its regular 104mm size... USXX commented on danish forums that simple conical is usually best, and that stac is designed to be wg loaded...
you can also see new 2.5" satori mid - Waveguide that haha

I have no idea about this driver, but a waveguide like on the ATC / Volt midranges might indeed be nice!
hi guys,
I got some news from High End Munich show...
Both waveguided sb26 and waveguided tw29B should be released in next 4 months.
sb26
tw29
Seems like ~2mm step is required and I'd say estimate a shallow elliptical.
edit: images work, even though forum wont show them.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Can't see any of those images.
Played with some Scanspeak tweeters! I measured four designs. One 5" that is basically the same as other 5" ellipticals in this thread. A 5" that has uses a 1:.80 aspect ratio. A 6" that is basically a scaled up version of the 5" ellipticals.
Take a look at what came out of the CNC machine here...
@Gaga,
Exactly what I thought! Your seems made sense to me!
I think they are only way forward tbh. Did you maybe try "reverse engineering" some of the measured WGs in order to improve your models?
I really see potential in elliptical flare! Tbh,sensitivity is too low for excellent measuring adc.
