Dear ricyuyc,

OM-OF101 has a short stroke, so you shouldn't be greedy with the bass.

6 to 8 liter bass reflex will give you a good balance.

I built 3.5 liter double bass reflex.

The development team tried dust cap and phase plug, and found that the phase plug were better in many points.

surround looks very reminiscent of the Fostex Sigmas

It's no good at long strokes because of the narrow surround.
I push cone by hand, it only moves half of CHR70v3.

Onkyo biomimetics speaker

The appendix speaker unit of this year Japanese
audio magazine "stereo ontomo nook 2021"
is om-of101 made by Onkyo.
Onkyo stereo brand have delisted but they will make
biomimetics cone speaker as OEM.
It's cheap 60usd here and I really like the sound.
For now,I replaced in my tabaq for w4-1320.

They remind me of Fostex’s hyperbolic paraboloid woofers. Are they available yet? I would possibly be interested in testing the dispersion pattern and non-linear distortion.

I am not sure if it's available from
overseas Japan.
Here in Japan it is available now.
I believe it's worth to make effort to buy for fullrange funs.
Yes,It looks very similar to fostex except dragon fly pattern.

Bass sound is not the best but the vocal is lovely.
I would like to listen fostex esigma.

Depends what sort of horn you're thinking of. Broadly speaking, 'no', technically speaking in most cases 'no', but depending on context and within a limited application & what you're trying to achieve -'yes'.
