hi Tvrgeek,
Thanks, I can do Vas now!
NS
I do both mass displacement and sealed box testing for VAS. When I get them within about 10%, I know I am correct. You would be surprised how little vibration of the coins or how small a leak it takes to throw the measurements off. Good thing it is not very critical.
Well no on 37hz,I decided to order 2 B&C Speakers 18PZB100 B & C SUPER 18" 1400W WOOFER got them right at $550.00 for 2 with shipping,So they should fit anything they get put in ,
I have the box 24"x24" x 30" with the peavey low rider in it ,Their is 2 4" round ports on the side at the rear(I can add more holes or slot it ),I am considering putting 4" tubes inside 10"long and test it,then add another side to direct the ports forward,What do you think?
Thanks for the help Guys,

I checked the tuning, it's about 37hz.
Is that your goal?
Hi,🙂
It's done! so all I got to do is test it,almost got it wired and the amp in place,
I will do this tomorrow ,IT's BEER time here in Texas,Better not test a sub at 3 am,lol. When I get back, lol.

How should I determine a good box size for measurement,or can you build a 3 ft square and just plug it in to the parameters?
I am learning to use the DATS,
Thanks,

I guess they really do....things bigger in Texas
There was mention of a folded horn for one of these woofers on "Bass for my soldier" Now that would be a great project.
NS, where/what are you going to use these for??

Mostly just watching action films and of course listening to some fine rock N roll,
I got time and tools to fine tune the whole system that's where I am heading,The never ending quest to make it better I guess, lol

Hi Doug,
For movies I prefer much more extension than you can reasonably get from a TH without compromising SQ. That being said if all you need is 30Hz extension with efficiency and more than average output a TH is a fine but not small choice.

Hi NEO Dan,
Here's the "plan" so far the 12" kickers like low hz,so they will get a sonatube in the 15 to 50 hz,30hz to around 150,the TH,then Dr200 and maybe some super tweeters, comments,Ideas are welcomed,
Cheers,,,,It's 107 in SanAntonio, might have to build a fire soon to cool offr ,lol.

Hi noSmoking,
Do you have any data on the Xmech for the 18PZB100? The manufacturer lists Xmax=Xvar=8mm.
Here in Odessa, Texas it's only 90F/32C, may have to go for a dip in the pool anyway. 🙂
