Hi pathetic
Mundorf Supreme 1uf Mcap for the I / V that is very good! but not necessary for SSHV, waste too!
Im wrong it, Shunt diodes for low Salas for special, select the type equivalent
Thank

Hi klaju1955
Do not separate between SSHV and I / and E182CC wit transformer output, I will send you the following diagram.
You're signing on to the list! Thanks for the interest.

Can you post this diagram?
Thanks

I'm not quite clear on this. Do I use 1N5819 or 1N5062 for the DAC updated?
Thanks quanghao.

You use 1N5819.
I received, thank you Quang Hao

received boards, thanks!!
I have a couple of questions for those who have finished the DAC.
Did anyone try removing the filter (L1,L2 in the DAC and R30-33 in the IVY)? What difference should I expect if I do that?
Also, I'm thinking of switching some caps to Black Gate. The ones I'm replacing are the Sanyo 47uf. I'm having the OSCON SP there and might try the BG NX HiQ 47uf. Other caps are the 220uf in the IVY. Thinking of popping the BG N 100uf into there. What do you guys think about this? Is it worth replacing those caps?

Problem with Salas HV
Using 0-250 Rcore -260V AC at input
250VDC after rectifier?
Have blown 2 9610s
THe 470 ohm resistors start smoking after 2 seconds. Obviously too much current
No obvious shorts on board.
Where do I start troubleshooting
Thanks
Bob

In my experience 2uF give me a litle thin sound (for comparation); with 4uF (each channel) this problem is in some way surpassed, the bass is more pronounced, more body, more solidity, more color. I take this detail quite seriously.

Output caps
I wonted reply to the "pathetic" #1940:
"Hey guys, about to order 1uf caps. I'm going to order 2 x 1uf Mundorf Mcap Supreme for the I/V. Was just wondering if I need premium caps for the Salas Shunt as well.(...)"
pharaod, I'm sorry, my reply appeared out of the context.hfar. Where are these caps going? Do you have numbers - C?

You see this image
What about the Led??
May be Mje 350 died , so 840 get all mA

Hi,
I completed the Salas HV! Everything is perfect, I can adjust the output voltage ,but IRF840 is very hot and smoke somewhere !!!!
Forward suggestions!
Thank you!

Did you use a load when adjusting the voltage? You should have it. The IRF840 accounts for 20% of the true load.
QuangHao:
Thanks for the reply.
I have the IV and Salas HV board which I am building to power the E182CC IV board.
I will check the MJE 350.
The 3 LEDs light.
R1 (33 ohms) is also very hot so it draws excess current.
Oh. I don't have a 1N3838 installed. Did not see it on the BOM. Will try to find one in my parts.
Best

Hi all!
I plan to make PCB for i / v DAC use:
1. PCB use E182CC tube and output transformer.
In this link circuit:
DAC End - the AD1865N-K with single ended vacuum output stage
2. Using A844 PCB Opam

Hi Quanghao,
Sorry for this question, but I think that you are thinking to provide separated entrys for power supplys, mainly for separated channels. This is correct?
Per Quanghao I will not use the diode across the 9610.
I found out that my 47 ohm resistors were 470 ohms not 47. They are marked 47. This happened to a fellow DIYer a couple of years ago. I usually check with a meter before installing but became impatient. Live and learn. I have replaced semiconductors and will see how things go later tonight.

Hi! i use SSHV for All project. In thi case have one tube E182CC, and need 20Ma for tube, so one supply it is good??
Do you have any idea? Can you tell me please??
Thanks
Everything is working with the Salas HV part of the IV - Salas HV board. It is providing 270V to the e182CC IV board.
Thanks to all
