I always add a time delayed relay bypass when using aggressive soft start or NTC. in a class A this can be beneficial as the NTC isn't urinating away power too - That is the job of the s̶p̶a̶c̶e̶ ̶h̶e̶a̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶amplifier after all.
If it were to be of any use: I have a good variety of germanium transistors and other transistors if any older ones are necessary. As long as I have enough units for the purpose I can also match them and/or measure them. I got them for free when my uncle packed up shop as an electrics repairman.

R122?
ZM,
R122 / 222 is defined as 10R(22R)... That is depending on the type of germanium or 2SA1943 thing? Mine is the "round one" (2N1099), do I put 10R @ R122 ?

...and R120 (180K) seems to be missing, not in list and not in the bag...
that is my omission, evidently Packing List with that mistake sneaked in.... I know that I corrected it
let's just say that we are equal now, for mess with HA!

sorry ........
Moment of truth:
Ge = Germanium = round bugger
Bigun Si = Toshiba Square thing, correct?
Ok for r120 / HA! [emoji1787]
(though a bit early for beers)

Part 1 almost done. Now comes the sad (or hard) part: waiting for the rest of the parts.
I need the PSU, trannies, chassis. Since I want to stuff all mouser-parts into one order (to avoid the shipping-steal) I have to wait for the toroidys to arrive, to select the correct snubber-values. 2 weeks wait for old soul!

(So no bugging-time today)
Thank you very much, oh mightyzm, for old soul and support!

The only thing I can't quite figure for an Old Soul build is how to mate 2N1099, 1T813 and etc to the conventionally available DIYAudio case format. Maybe it's easier than I'm thinking...
Also, will Old Soul boards drive Shindengen 2SB206?

see pictures how I did it on T Bed
i'm really not having another solution
maybe easiest is having entire pcb on L bracket, then Ge thingie on end of it
yup, whichever Ge type you choose to toss in, it'll work
Had built some se-amps with various germaniums. The sound of parts, germanium-transes too: tap it with, for instance, a screwdriver;-)
It is the sound of the materials.
I would prefer germaniums to silicon, but in a modern body. The TO-3P does not pay attention to electricity (and the others too)-; The TO-3P does sound undefined, noisy, flat, disembodied, limp)-;

The edcor dilemma applies here too?
(I thought I'd follow Papa's advice on this)
Ps : thank you for the edit on post #1, very helpful!

pinout mishap applies too;
rest, Papa's advice, clarify
if you think of RC shunt on out side, don't bother - 600:600 are nicer animals, comparing to xformers having greater ratio
