O2 amp Australian parts GB

Good luck DDW!

The problem with allocating spare parts to a few people as full payment for the wallwarts is that the rest of the group will be left holding the bag. There's not enough to go around and cover the wallwart debt.

--snip snip --

Prices need adjusting? A sound plan, or too complicated? Unfortunately it's gonna be messy any way you slice it.

I agree with the idea of splitting rather than those that want more getting credit and the majority losing out completely. I'm not sure on the prices, they're inflated but not impossible. Obviously this coin has two sides. As you have said: there is no easy way to slice a turd and not end up with **** on your hands!

Can anyone point out what it is that has cost extra when purchased compared to the prices that BF was working on when he quoted these things up? Plugpacks were a possibility, not any more though. The excess enclosures and batteries on top of what was required are the only things I can as possibilities for overrun on the cost BF was expecting.

I have some copies of old BF spreadsheets, I am thinking of spending the night doing some research on where the holes have appeared. I have a good idea of timeline stuff in my head, the prices got pretty hazy at the best of times.

Bluefusion's messages are confusing to be sure. One minute: "I'll throw in something 'nice' extra". The next minute: "I wanted to make some small profit on this to cover my time."

What about our time chasing this stuff up? Some people here have probably spent 3/4 of the time that it may take to organise this GB just in nagging BF and working out where the money/goods are!

For now I am ecstatic that DDW has volunteered to clean up some of the mess.

I have stuff!!! Please bear with me while I go through PMs and check you'll get what you have paid and asked for. BF was a nice guy but I think the size of the task extended his expectations and ability. Good job for attempting what he did, but next time(???!!!) I think he would share the workload and offer less options.
Where to from here is for me to big picture check the kits and get them in the post either tonight or tomorrow. If I can express post I will, just need to get my head around what was allocated for postage.

Being a sympathetic observer I would like to offer an idea.

I, like several others I am sure wouls be prepared to pay a little over the odds to buy the surplus gear. So as a collective maybe the best way to recover or minimise loses, why not auction the remainders, here or ebay, and split the earnings.

So for instance, component kits and pcbs look to have cost in the order of $30 + $6. I will offer $100 for two of each delivered to Canberra. Anyone want to beat that offer?

Anyway, just an idea.

I owe BF for 2 kits that he sent to me several weeks back. Despite asking him for his bank details, he didn't respond.

I think it is a much better option to send the $85.73 I owe to ddw to fund the postage.

Thoughts?

On another note, BF has confirmed to me by email that he has already paid for the face plates, which means that the power pack and the postage money is still missing. By my calculations that's $670 not yet allocated..

but do you have cash? you seem like the type of guy who might just cover a shortfall rather than making a thing of it chasing BF, i must urge you to not do this.

on BF doing it again? i would hope that he would not attempt any such thing on any forum, ever again under any circumstance. he clearly isnt capable, having left a trail of failed GB's across at least 3 forums (4 if you consider headfi as many here are from there).

Hey guys, do worry he will be refunding and paying what he should. First kit I checked had 8 batteries and 2pcb's not 4 batteries and 3 pcb's so tonight's job will be to check all the orders and get it all ready to go out tomorrow. Will update as required.

I hope everything is there!

I'd like to echo the statements above, since it isn't the first time BlueFusion has made these mistakes it is very much appropriate that he is accountable for this.

It is not appropriate that you be left out of pocket for his mistakes.

Your time spent repacking everything is very much appreciated. Hope you make time for a couple of those Adelaide brews tonight still!

Thanks again DDW for helping to sort all this out.

@Bluefusion - I don't have any hard feelings about all this, but probably don't attempt this next time. The thought was great, but maybe you should attempt something a little less ambitious next time. I hope you can get the faceplates out to everyone in a reasonably timely fashion. If so, that would at least end this process on a good note.

Taz.
