B4rr3l, what gauge wire do you use for amp to speaker terminals?
nice question, they are about 1.5mm thick
b4rr3l: I saw your post with photos of upgraded caps on connex smps. Can you describe the improvement after the caps upgrades ? I have similar smps powering my UCD180, so I would like to know. Thanks.

It provides a bit more dynamics and deeper bass, the base is quieter also with less noise.
Complete noob here, but I've been looking at this board for long enough to step into the world of diy audio.
Planning to put together this Hifimediy board plus the recommended Connexelectronic SMPS in a build similar to b4rr3l's.
But before I dive in, in all honesty how does it compare to a Topping TP22 ? If we are talking better by a noticeable margin, I will make the effort, no questions asked!

If I recall correctly, the TP22 is lower powererd, with just one output chip. Also, it is limited to a 24VDC supply. The Hifimediy amps have two output chips, and can operate on up to 32VDC, right?
Heh, I have one of each and have not directly compared them. 😀 Sorry.
I think I like the T2 more because I put it together. 😀 I do enjoy both of them daily and have no complaints.

Oh no doubt assembling one yourself is greatly satisfying! thanks tons for the reply!
I guess I should describe my setup. I'm not looking necessarily to listen at high volumes; My speakers are PSB Alpha B1 Bookshelfs (91db/ 6 ohms) in a near field arrangement. Sitting at my computer table is all I use them for, maybe a bit of ambience when company is over.
I'm currently using an aune x2 (TPA3121D2 based model), plenty of power, just not sure what the next step up would be... looking for better sound, not strictly more power
I have a Hifimediy T1 ALPS vol pot TK2050 STA510 powered by a Mean Well 36V dialed down to 29V measured on outputs. DC offset measured and set to 0.
How hot should the heatsink run? I can keep my finger on the heatsink for about 4-5 sec, is it ok? 29V it's the lowest i can go with this source

So a desktop 'puter sound setup .. basically.
Up your game with an Audio weenie type setup.
Buy used (wayyy cheaper) and the world's yer Oyster.
A whole new world awaits 🙂
I had the same issue, it was running @60+degreesC...finally died after a few months. I did not get a response on the Manufacturers Forum either. It wasn't economical to return to China. Looking forward if you find a solution.

Hi, we change the name of boards, so v1>T1 and v2>T2, and keep T3 🙂
If a stuck happened:
use a wire to jump the power relay as it showed below; or
use a diode (with relay removed and wire useless) if necessary.
Some one may need this:
I am having issues with a T1 (v1.2b) amplifier. It started with the green light going off after a clicking sound. Then the red light started dimming when turned on. I thought it was the power supply and tested it with another (both 31V) and the red light does not dim, but the green light keeps going off and so to does the music. I have read that this version had problems with the relays and decided to wire a jumper cable as quoted above. This did not solve my problem. i have read that it could be the relay, C32 capacitor or the speaker outlets. I am at a lost. Anyone with advice? Suggestions much appreciated.
The C32 capacitor was leaking so I decided to switch it out and in my haste l lifted the solder pads. Great! Can anyone help me in figuring out how I could use wires from the capacitor leads to their connecting points on the board? Thanks.
Hi guys, do you think this is a TK2050 board?

Can someone point me to a case wich fits a t1 with alps pot? i have a meanwell power suplly, i dont know if i can fit it in the same enclosure, maybe a smaller one just for the amplifier board?
Also, have anyone replaced the fan inside the meanwell supply case? It's quite noisy under load

Could anyone help me identify what has just gone wrong with my T3S?
It just does not want to start anymore. It was always switched off properly, PSU is definitely fine so I have no idea what happened. Basically the behaviour is like that:
- after turning on PSU the red light goes on but the green is only half lit and relays don't kick in
- there is a slight whining noise coming from the board which was not there before
- power consumption is 7.5W
- voltage on coil legs is about 13V for one channel and anything between 0.5 to 7V for the other one
The only mod done was changing the coils to Wurths 4.7uH. They worked fine for about 2 hours before I turned off the amp for the last time. Then it does not want to turn back on. Any help much appreciated.
