Of Babel fish and Babelfishing…

The Babel fish is a character in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, a science-fiction comedy series created by Douglas Adams. Once inserted in a person’s ear, the Babel fish allows that person to understand any other language.
Zen Mod Babelfishing is the creation of audio devices which are functionally equivalent to commercial offerings, without disclosing or violating someone else’s intellectual property. In those designs he uses favorite building blocks, like LED strings for voltage reference, which increase the component count when compared to the original design. My personal joke with him is that he is addicted to complicate simple designs. He knows it is in good fun and the real reason for the design changes is what I have just described above.

When you can crack jokes in another language using enough dry sarcasm that people don't even know if you're joking or not, then you're doing pretty bloody good.

I need to contact Gianluca, to see is it possible to make European iteration of 4U/500 Custom chassis

we can't use bloody downunder ones here, top is on bottom and bottom is on top

:devilr:

JRW your diagram incorrectly shows the emitter waveform as an inverted version of the input. That ain't right. The emitter waveform will be non-inverted, and the collector waveform will be inverted. The circuit goes by the name "phase splitter" and Texas Instruments used it with spectacular success in their SN7400 line of integrated circuits, in the early 1960s.

Gotta keep the greedy boys on their toes!

Thank you for that. It sounds like a true talent.
