New Monoblock chassis (sets!!!) from Modushop

ZM, I'm saying that I like the way the current galaxy and dissipante enclosures work with nice discrete fastenings, just a handful of small bolts to secure the top plate that are visible. Why not just take one side of a galaxy and one side of a dissipante and mate them together?

I'm not saying that you're wrong with your taste and stance

But, Gianluca already explained logic which dictated line of decisions and compromises they needed to make

This thread itself is showing how every single product needs to comply with broad list of requests and expectations ............ while we must be aware of fact that every single product is effective for producer only as long is sold in numbers big enough

if Modushop goes to zillion iterations of each basic products, that would result only in mess and higher prices, overall ....... every particular position being made in smaller series, thus being more expensive for final buyer

all in all , I'm content with their Catalogue; can't argue neither with that , nor ( especially) with bang for the buck

It's fine ZM, I'm just expressing my opinion that I think a better outcome could have been achieved (perhaps financially for modushop too) by utilising the current product line instead of inventing something new (and, IMO, less attractive). I've bought a few enclosures from Gianluca, including some excellent customisation, and I'm sure I'll buy again but probably not this new product. I'll leave it there.

I think these chassis will be in high demand, especially ZenMod's iteration 1.
Wishfully they will have faceplates covering the heatsinks and UMS as an option.

Although it seems to me that I'm not as susceptible as nautibuoy to the issue of heatsink screws I'm also somewhat apprehensive with this matter.
Gianluca: Is it possible to see a more detailed picture of these screws on the outside of the heatsink?

Thanks.

The heatsinks are mounted from the outside, we have made some holes between the fins.
That's perfect! I actually prefer this to mounting screws from inside, as the screws are much more accessible from the outside. Fixing screws from the inside is always a hassle, especially if PCBs and frames are getting in the way. With the narrower chassis, this would be even worse. Screws between the fins will hardly be visible. You can always countersink them to make them virtually invisible.

Sure, here they are!

Yes, that's correct. The 3mm side panel can be easily removed and one or two heatsinks can be mounted after.

We may opt for a "base chassis" with no heatsink and then the customer can choose as an option one or two extra heatsinks. By doing so, we let the final user choose the model they prefer

One improvement, Gianluca, if I may add:
the possibility to make a V-FET logo on the front 🙂
- hope that has no author rights.
I would of course very much welcome the offer of the V_FET houzing via Jason’s DIY-shop or your shop (we exchanged some emails about that last year; I keep my dingers crossed).

@Gianluca

I did found front plate mounting with 4 headless screws ( then split washers+nuts) much easier in many cases, as front plate is usually last thing I'm putting on (with everything already mounted inside the amp, so maneuvering with screwdriver is somewhat tricky)........... logically top plate is really last one but let ignore that

I did forgot but now it came to my mind (when Pepennino posted his picture ) to ask you - is it possible that Modu includes these 4 headless screws and 4 nuts in every package?

Increase price for E or two and we are all happy :clown:
