So, I guess it now really goes to 11. Sorry, J - just had to. š±

CHN-50's up and running in small sealed (un-oiled) Valchromat and ply cabs. 24mm thick walls seemed a bit overkill, but was a trial for hiding edge details.
Very nice, I really like that chamfer detail

TimbreAudio,
Nice work. What is the internal volume of the enclosure and how are you finding the sound?

4.8L sealed enclosure. Dim's are based on Dave's uMarkenPlus was just a starting point, but the proportions seemed nice.
They are a bit bass shy (especially compared to the 10.2's they are above) but brand new, so I'm expecting them to open up a bit after 50-100hrs. But they feel pretty detailed, balanced, I think for the price they are amazing. A7.3 is still my favourite driver to date.
Ive got some cabs to do the same style (I might go for a 6-9mm Valchromat 'veneer' instead with the P7.2HD, which have the same baffle size as the 10's but a reduced volume.
If the plan works it should be a nice little set under the Timbre 'GEM' range. CHN-50 / P7HD / P11 (or 11MS)
Whilst self isolating I might be able to get my measurement mic up and running.

The sims suggest about 1.5 litres with damping to give max-flat butterworth Q. That gives a useful 2nd order LF roll-off that could be used as, or part of, the filter XOing to helper woofers below 145 Hz.
if you are crossing higher (at least an octave, the more droppy roll-off is fine and the large box gives more room for damping to kill the back wave.
12mm of the exotic stuff you re using for these cabinets should be overkill. If you need more room for chamfer, add real wood to the sides for an intersting cosmetic touch, and to create a āplywoodā of different materials.

Thanks Dave, whilst I have you, do you have saved the optimum Q0.707 of the mark audio drivers, it may be a good resource for people to have;
The Valchromat is in essence HDF, I may look into painting these small ones, as the 'veneering' and chamfering technical isn't perfect, it was meant to hide all the joins, but it exposes three at the corners. š
These are ideally designed for nearfield listening, or my main goal is to have a dedicated range for bar/restaurant audio and work as small satellites with either a sub, or not if they can go low enough.
I do find I have to crank up the volume on my amp, its listed as 2.2db down on SPL from 10.3-CHN50.

Not sure what you are asking. I have a sealed sim of every MA driver (except some of the newer ones), and those will be generated when someone posts something where those sims are relevant.
Are you looking for a specific driver?
dave
Would love to know the literage for the newer ones; If its available maybe Stefan can post them to the mark audio site as he has with other free box plans?

I have set on building a A12pw in a Woden Folded MLTL. I was going to use it as WAW for other full range drivers above that I can swap out. I have a pair of Eikona 2's, and A10.3 drivers. I was thinking of A5.3's or should I get A7.3's or 7P's before Madisound runs out. Or would one of the newer drivers be better or even the one of the A6's.
I am not a big fan of the A7p. It is good, but needs at least a whack of break-in. A7.3 better.
A5.2/3 makes a spectacular midTweeter as long as the XO is high enuff. A7s will allow lower XO. A7ms probably makes the most sense in a 4ā for a midTweeter (where the monoSuspension starts to show its mettle ā the A5.2/3 also has a monoSuspension). Larger driver also allows you to play louder.
The A12pw is underappreciated (iād love to see pics of your build ā i drew it up just for this kind of application, but havenāt seen a build yet), and allows for XO from as low as you are willing to take the midTweeter up to about 2.5-3 kHz, some use them as single driver FR.

Currently working on building two subwoofers. I have some additional MDF leftover, that I was going to build some speakers with to use it up. I know MDF is not your favorite speaker building material, but the price is right. I have 3/4ā Baltic birch for the A12pw and the A10.3. I have enough 1/2ā MDF and some cherry veneer cabinet ply Scrap I could build a Bloodhound with for the A5.3. Have enough 3/4ā left MDF left to build a MiniLine MLTL for the Eikona 2 and possibly another full range monitor depending on size. Will post pictures when finished with the builds.

Yes, CHR-120. The other new one is the CHN-110. The difference in the 'R' and 'N' refers to the basket material / type.
