Anyone noticed the new FE400 series?
Seems more OB oriented, but look at that smooth extended response for the 6"

For my use case (OB mid below ESS Heil tweeter, above a nude 15FH500), the 8FE400 looks like a promising alternative to the Beta 8a I have used. Very smooth, well controlled up top, and a suitable Qt. Pretty cheap, too. Maybe worth a flyer once it's widely available.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the SB 34RNXL75-8 along with its smaller cousin, the SB29NRXL75-6. The 12" will do pro audio levels @ lower THD than most 12s in vented or sealed. The Aurum Cantus 10 and 12 with the carbon comp cones are also top notch drivers. The SB34 has the edge in most areas, unless you want a sealed cab with very low Fb. In that case, the SB 34NRX75-6 is an exceptional alternative.

yes, the 8FE400 looks very smooth as well
and it's cheaper than the 6FE400 for now (??), at least on that site

Both drivers will run in breakup mode in the midrange, so the smaller mid will typically be better than a larger one in a given higher response range. I'd give the Eminence Beta 8A a look. Very easy to EQ and exceptionally clean in the upper mids. Better than most pro mid 8s at any price.

The 34RNXL75-8 does go lower with only a 1DB penalty in reference efficiency.

The 34NRXL75-8 has the right specs for a large vented 3 way or sub. The midrange punch reminds me a little of mid 70s JBL vented nearfield monitors. The SB 34NRX75-6 is better for a larger sealed box and has the right TS parameters, especially when integrating subs with monitors. The lower midrange becomes a bit thin and less defined. For a midbass in a smaller box, the 6MW150 is also a great fit even with huge woofers after BSC is applied.

Try simulate two 10RS430 in ~75L BR tuned to around 40Hz. It’s impressive how much bas you get per cabinet volume. It also allows for a ppsl configuration or at least opposing drivers for vibration reduction.
If the prices don’t change when the driver is in stock and you buy four from Tlhp with a quantity discount then it’s a bargain to.

The SB Acoustics SB29NRX75-6 is about the same price, has a 3" coil with perfect ventilation and about the same Xmax. I trust SB Acoustics more with high quality drivers (this 10" is excellent!) - but lat's wait if Faital Pro can deliver with this one.

I’m curious too. Thlp have two 10rs430 in stock and I have them in my basket ready to press order.
But I don’t need another pair of drivers teasing me on the shelf..

A conservative simulation of two drivers in parallel in 75L cabinet and limited to ~10m/s port speed within the intended 40Hz and up. That is seriously compact and capable. With some port shape optimization that allows for higher speeds or bigger and longer ports then it’s capable of ~120dB at one meter before running out of published Xmax.

Hi,

Do you remember between both in their own load the one that sounded best ?

thanks. Disto is not all in the bass. I wanted more to know if these drivers used below 200 hz which sounded the best subjectivly between the sealed and vented from someone who heard both (I'm aware of the technical differences between the drivers and the loads).
