Anyone noticed the new FE400 series?
Seems more OB oriented, but look at that smooth extended response for the 6"

I think they might look hi-fi enough if those front foam thingies are removed/cut downnot particularly attractive
they're still half the price of a Scanspeak analogue, so...profiting of the inflation to increase prices and margin
They are not that expensive for what they deliver:

Sorry, what I meant was that they don't seem to be remarkable in any fashion to me.I think they might look hi-fi enough if those front foam thingies are removed/cut down
"The Faital Pro 12RS430 is a powerful 12-inch speaker that delivers exceptional sound quality and can handle up to 500W of power
"the Faital Pro 12RS430 is the perfect choice if you want a high-performance speaker that delivers exceptional sound quality and serious bass response"
They seem to think it's exceptional, though

The 12RS430 have very good parameters for a moderately large bass-reflex box (like a fullrange floorstander) and the 30 Hz Fs is very rare amongst the pro woofers, even for a 15" or 18", which is a warm welcome and still has a healthy sensitivity. So it's like a blend of a home/hifi and a pro woofer, nice option IMO.
A very interesting budget alternative is 12FE330 (8ohms, 92dB, Fs 33hz)

How would you use the 12rs430?
I'd love to build a Faital-based Avalon Isis clone type speaker.. Maybe with 6rs140-16 as midrange and a Bliesma t25b for highs
Something similar to what the folks over on htguide are working on

This little beast also seems quite new

The big Bliesma and Purify midrange ... that's a different leaque. You could combine the Bliesma AL 3" with the T25B or some smaller midrange - PHL 5" maybe if you need the sensitivity. For such a concept get the best midrange you can achieve.
Just a quick comparison - 18Sound 8", Faital Pro, PHL.
Not bad, not HighEnd.
