Hi,
Looks like Arizonadream owns the latest version of this unit V1.5, does anyone here knows what are the differences between V1.4 and V1.5?
Thanks.

Hi Arizonadream
Can you give me a link to the ebay article from which you purchased the device ? Thank you
Compared this DAC with MyDac, and I must admit that MyDac is way better, but it's couple of times more expensive. MyDac has more dynamics and very nice texture. XMOS in the other hand, has more relaxed and sounds more analogue with less details. Very good for the price.
I found that on my USB DAC voltage on pin 8 chip XMOS and pin 27 chip USB3320 power 500mV. Maybe it's not enough to start chipset. Can someone trying voltage at the board on these pins.I buy dac:
MisterTao: Leading Taobao Agent - Taobao Product - XMOS decoder board (Special) supports 384K USB decoding
But why this usb dac not defined as a device in Windows XP? I attach an usb-cable, to shine a light-emitting diode 384K, but the new device in Windows XP doesn't appear. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Does this board has I2S output?
Does this board has I2S output?
i2s - no, digital out: is only coax.
My friend have new version this device.
On the board print: V1.5.2 2014/2/25
changes (i have V1.5.1 2014/2/25)
1. L12 (other detail, but I am not sure)
2. Leaf Audio Clock (in my JYEC)
3. ELNA cap (in my nichicon for Audio)
other side:
1. R28,R29 -are removed (Phones)
2. D9 -are removed
3-4-5. changes in PCB
6. print V1.5.2

Hey guys! I thought I´d make an account to contribute to the topic and thank yall for your insights and post regarding this little DAC.
I got mine in the mail a few days ago and I recived what seems like the latest USB driver atm (2.23.0) and I´ve uploaded it if anyone what like to try it out!
I haven´t cracked it open, but I asked my associates in China, which I ordered it through, that It´s supposely the latest batch of this DAC and I also invested in the crystal oscillator TO 0.1PPM potenial upgrade.
DRIVERS 2.23.0: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9c591ikTRh8VzFQdUZoYVMzenc/view?usp=sharing
I got a short DC to USB power cable which I got connected to a LG 5V 2A USB charger and works great. Overall quality is just stunning for the price, no problem so far through any bit/samplerates. I could hear a noticable hum in the headphones while having my Marantz 2285B connected at the same time through RCA tho, maybe someone could get back to me with a solution? I guess it has to do with bad shielding?
Cheers!

looks like de-emph is already selected. so then i cut the trace from pin 11 and connected that to where the ceramic cap is connected to pin 10 and viola... gorgeous sound. you must do this mod, haha.
Did anyone try this mod?
Native DSD or DoP - no. Only DSD to PCM convert:Is this dac(xmos + pcm5102) capable for dsd ?

Hi there, I'm new to the forum and I signed up for asking a question about this little dac that seemes to be sounding too good to be true for some of you.
do you know if it does work without driver? I want a product that works with android using an OTG cable, and there I can't install ASIO driver...
Has anyone ever tryied using it with a phone/tablet?
thank you in advance!

Adding Selector Switch to choose between IIR and FIR. I prefer IIR over FIR due to less muddy sound better separation to my ear. Here is what I did.
If you set Pin 11 to Ground, it is in FIR.
If you input pin 11 with 3.3VDC via pin 20, it is in IIR.
Hope it helpful 😀

I have not tried the DAC with Windows, I use the Raspyfi instead. In case you have not heard of it it is a small credit card sized computer running a customised version of debian specifically for playing music on most USB DAC's. You can have the DAC and Raspyfi in a box with power supply and you can plau of any USB drive or network attached storage.
I have not tried the headphone output as I only feed the DAC into my preamp/amp/speakers.
Hi Andynz, just red this post and I was wondering if that raspyfi software Can be installed even in a windows7 PC, in order to get rid of foobar, which I hate...

I've no experience of this particular DAC but I am successfully using a Chinese USB input card with my Android phone via OTG cable.
If you're planning to use your Android device into USB this app may be of interest;

Works very well on my Samsung S4 and I prefer it to other music players when using the phone as a portable music player when I'm out and about (all my music is FLAC). Suggest you check for compatibility with your android device.

No, you will not be able to install raspypi software on a Win7 PC.
Maybe buy a RPi or look at alternative Windows players; I've always found JRiver MC to be excellent on my Win7 laptop.
BTW, there are alternatives to raspypi about that are free and being developed, google Volumio or Rune Audio.
