I did some pixel peeping and figured it is probably TDA1308.
Yep quite right, TDA1308
Thanks. I asked the seller and she said I would have OPA2132 in mine. I have placed an order and will report back once I receive it.Yep quite right, TDA1308
What about Win8 drivers.I can´t get work first post´s drivers.I have tried place a compatibility mode to Win7 and disabling digital signature verification. The evaluation version of the Thesycon USB Driver is working fine, but offcourse with periodically beeps.
Also want to try out different digital filter settings especially IIR mode.Any idea, how to change settings in this board?

Pardon my ignorance but is there any reason why this WOULDN'T be async? I know I have to take this is a grain of salt but I asked the seller and they said it was not async even though the parts are spec'd for it.

I was looking the exact one as shaocaholica, and the only thing i could find referring to this dac is here. So forgive me for asking the same question. Does anyone has any idea if this one is worth it? I sent him a message asking about the specs, but I doubt he'll be any informative. As far as I know XMOS is asynchronized but my knowledge is limited🙂
In addition to my last post, I'd like to say that "PD05" should be referring to the Crystal Oscillator model (datasheet in the hyperlink). Btw, sorry for somehow hijacking the thread..
usb/Spdif
Hi,
Seem very interesting for using as a DAC.
I am looking for using as usb/spdif converter to connect to my dcx2496, is it good for this?
Is there a spdif output on the board?
Other ideas for my connection are welcome.
Many thanks.

anybody had trouble installing the driver as i do right now? windows 7, the computer recognizes xmos 2.0 upon plug in, unable to use the driver, try to install it with the driver linked on the first page of this thread and the installer says the driver is not plugged in.
i just used xmos official driver and it's all good. the sound it's making right now very promising- a bit thin compared to differential 1543 but that's to be expected, i guess.
how do you toggle the de emphasis filter on this board?

please take a close look at the bottom side of pcb tracing the output. the output is buffered by tda chip! lol. i severed the connection and the sound is much more transparent at the expense of dynamics.
looks like de-emph is already selected. so then i cut the trace from pin 11 and connected that to where the ceramic cap is connected to pin 10 and viola... gorgeous sound. you must do this mod, haha.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
i was mistaken. the output of the dac goes to the input of tda1308. still, the rca + is connected to the same trace....
above picture is for iir mod. cut the trace leading out of pin 11 first.
I found a drivers that works with this board. They are for a Rega Saturn-R CD player.

Thanks for following the project! It's changing as it goes but I have pretty much decided on the following:
PCM5012A DAC Board (obviously!)

Raspyfi
RaspyFi - Pi never sounded so good!
Regulator Board
4.17uV Ultralow noise DAC power supply regulator (3.3V/5V 1A)x2 (+-12V/15V 1A)x1 - DIYINHK

And an ebay aluminum box yet to be ordered based on what size all the boards come to when I connect it up.
I think that should do it and with the option of installing a 2.5" external drive in the box I can have my entire collection, DAC & power supply in one little box.
This box looks like a good option with IEC and power switch. You would need to modify the rear panel holes possible.

First time poster here...Hi everyone! , great project!! hows it going?? good stable build??
cheers Kerry
How do you mount this kind of PCB in an enclosure, as it has no holes for stand offs?An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Dear PreSapian,
Just cut the old trace of Pin11 and wire Pin 11 to the left side of C49, am I correct? No need to pull out any Capacitor or Resistor right? and What is the purpose of this mod?
Leaf Audio XMOS 384 k DAC
Hi,
I got mine today and tried it out. It was a big disappointment because it has pops and crackles at 96 kHz sometimes at 44k. I changed the USB cables but always the same. My other XMOS DAC (iBasso D7) had never any pops or crackles regardless which kind of files up to 192 kHz.
So, any ideas how to fix it? Dust bin and better buying something with more quality?
