My_Ref Fremen Edition GB (eight run - v1.6 boards)

Since the only ones who expressed their opinion want a delay to decrease price but most didn't express themselves, I'll shift all deadlines only by a week.

I'll fix price and send PayPal invoices Sunday, March 27.

All payments are due by April, 3.

In the meantime, we might make some noise to inform possible builders. Can someone with experience please elaborate on the audible differences between say the first version and the later versions?

Most partecipants from the 7th GB still have to build their modules and were 'new' builders... So I guess it's my turn...

New boards (and most of all the updated BOM) sounds more neutral and transparent with more details, with an almost perfect timbre. Apparently the reduced distortion makes them even more sweet and spot-on but the updated BOM should have a role too.

Woah, nice!
So you think we could place an order for the BOM (SMD excluded for me)?

Dario, when the updated BOM is ready, can you please indicate what parts will be premounted on the smt pcb?

Parts included in the SMD kit are now in blue on the BOM.

I'm in 😀

Welcome on board! 🙂

One more question about the BOM, in order to get a feel whether or not it will be feasable for me to solder smt parts. Can you please indicate the size of the various smt parts?

Most parts are 1206 size, 3 are 0805 and only the two BAW diodes a bit tricky.

See this graph (From Wikipedia):

Also give a look on the YouTube video linked on the opening post to have an idea.

Still no news from DIY_Calderon and account confirmation from MrSavage.

While I'm sure I will receive news from mr savage I've already contacted diy_calderon via PM with no answer...

Since 5 kits are not confirmed I'll wait tomorrow to fix price and send payment requests.

Thanks for the indication of the smt sizes. The 1206 size can be soldered about as easy as hole through components, even with a standard soldering iron. If needed, youtube is also your friend on instruction of smt soldering. This new GB is an interesting oppportunity to update your equipment.
