Radio Shack’s “substitution” manual was a joke and a half. Thankfully it wasn't that big.
I worked at a Radio Shack for a few months waiting for the job I wanted. Grim man, just plain grim.

Pretty much, if you live in Wyoming and are in a certain age bracket, you dam well know what a catalog is. Any catalog. Sears, Wards, um J.C. Whitney. Other 'entertainment'. "Oh thank God, the TV repairman showed before I love Lucy." Radio stations far away as KOMA Oklahoma city were magic, when you could get them.
But back to where we should be, audio. I can't remember half of the catalogs that came in but squeezed my eyes at every page. I would remember prices specs features, you name it, but you couldn't touch for less than 100 mile drive, that is, if it was carried there. Both coasts were enriched in those businesses, and I was envious.
