folks, received all addresses.
I'll now do a little work on Canada Post's website. Estimates based on their estimates
Canucks pay $2.89
Americans pay $7.00
All others pay $14.00
if I can convince Canada Post that these are oversized letters and not "goods"
total of 9 "beta testers"

Oversize letter can only contain paper. One of those situations where Canadians far away from Lethbridge will pay close to International, and close will pay more than US.

It's OK- I've always had the feeling that Lethbridge and Toronto were in different countries anyway 😀

nicho and others...
well the complete list is as follows
So "International" is anyone not in Canada or the USA. So I called Italy, Norway and India "International" to save me some typing, I'll have to weight the total with packaging, which measures 56.45 grams for the packaging (a bubble type envelope), and the arm parts (bearing pivot, arm and headshell). I may have to add something to the end of the arm tubes so that they won't "poke" through the envelope easily---small corks🙂 and/or a cardboard "card around each end.
If Canada Post refuses them as they are "goods" then the shipping charges will increase, and I'll offer you guys to pick your own poison (FedEx, parcel post via Canada Post, UPS, DHL, etc.). Based on your preference, I will get a quote and pass them onto the thread. P10, what's your shipping experience been with Canada Post?
sachu888: Your shipping, will be considerably higher yet again, as I am planning to send a turntable to you. The Shipping charges could go through the roof. Perhaps a turntable from Hong Kong, Singapore, China or Japan may prove to be far less expensive in shipping?
Thanks all for your patience.
to any making comments about shipping, (canzld included 🙂):
Toronto, being the centre of the universe (at least to many Torontonians) has been a view held by some. Torontonians also get upset 'cause we sit on (essentially) a province wide natural gas supply. And oil, and oil sands, and wind (particularly the Crowsnest Pass, and the Cowly ridge, and right close to home here in Lethbridge--362 days per year with breezes above 10 km per hour, so suitable for wind generated electricity). Oh, did I forget about sunny days per year? 291 🙂

- Tim(USA)
- Kevin(USA)
- SDGregory (Dave?---USA)
- Cory(USA)
- Nigel(Canuckland)
- Tim(UK via Canuckland)
- Trond(Norway)
- Emanuele(Italy)
- Sanchin(India)

All the USA ($10) & international ($17, $18 to india) ones can go Small Packet Air (keep it under 500g), the ones in Canada Expeditied. Note that depending on where in Canada, Tim's might be cheaper to send to the UK than to, say, Nova Scotia.
dave
🙂
but Santa Claus will put a load of iron for my new phono and amp after a lot of month of waiting....testing the arm will be delayed a bit....his a problem Nanook ?

guys,
some more rates (thanks P10) using Canada Post small packet air:
USA: $6.94
Italy, Norway, UK: $16.47
India: $17.69
Toronto: $11.91
Vancouver: $13.01
Note that it is cheaper for all US destinations than any Canadian destinations and that's shipping from within Canada!

Hi Stew,
Thanks for your reply. If you can send it in via canada postal surface service, shipping cost would be very less.I have checked on canada post website and it is around $6 for small packet. Here is the link

Don't worry Stew, I'm pretty sure most Torontonians know there's a lot of wind blowing out of Lethbridge 😀 (seriously - you are making this way too easy 😛)
this is seriously a joke tho - how the ... can it cost more to post from Lethbridge to Van than TO 😡 It's only about 4x the distance to here!Toronto: $11.91
Vancouver: $13.01
the small packet air rate is fine by me (do you have an email address for etransfer?) - You might want to hang onto the arms til after Xmas at this point. In my experience postal service usually goes haywire around now, lots more lost and damaged stuff due to the sudden increase in volume

I wish there was small packet in Canada to Canada, unfortunately not. 250, 500, 1000 g to the US, and an additional 2 kg small packet to international countries.
dave
(i've mailed ALOT of stuff in the last 10 years)
small packet air
seems to be the best solution. I think Sanchu, you may have to "pay up" as I can just tell the post office all "small packet air" and be done with it. The headshells alone are worth more than the shipping charge...
waiting until after Christmas does make a little sense. I'll have to see if my account can be set up foe e-payment. That would be my preference, but Paypal can work too (too bad I can't Paypal for freight with Canada Post).
I estimated the "packets as 15" X 2" X4", at 300-400 grams. In reality under 100 grams.

If it is under 250g post will drop. The arms i sent out were closer to 500 than 250 thou.
