Guys, the posted suggestions are more so for offering a complete solution
Most here would have some sort of resources. And the questions were for input to a "complete" design rather than "kits".
I'm putting everything together tonight (I hope, it's way to cold to go out tonight, -19 C but with wind chill feels like -28 C).
If I get bored tonight I'll make a diy record cleaner🙂

That cold weather is heading our way. Guess it is snow season now. Can't wait to assemble one and test it.
It's good to see that I am not the only one living in a cold area. The place I was yesterday, there was -28C, but luckily no wind. Where I live it was -19C, but today it is -10, only. It probably will reach -30 soon, here too. Brrr!I'm putting everything together tonight (I hope, it's way to cold to go out tonight, -19 C but with wind chill feels like -28 C).
It's a very nice 82 degrees F. here in Seattle and as usual, not a cloud in the sky. The Hula Girls are out in droves, as they are every day, to make living here a constant delight.
😉
Best Regards,

CANADIAN WINTER POEM
It's winter in Canada
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below.
Oh, how I love Canada
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Canada
Cuz I'm frozen to the ground!
Have a great day...
[Edit: Here's an interesting fact about our neighbors to the North:
98% OF CANADIANS SAY "OH S**T!" BEFORE GOING IN THE DITCH ON A SLIPPERY ROAD.
THE OTHER 2% ARE FROM NEWFOUNDLAND AND THEY SAY, "HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS!" ]
Sweltering in Seattle,
TerryO

May I have the name of your Doctor? Sounds like he is a good one!!!!
Scott
I go to a local Physician, Dr. Darwin A. Ward, who is... incidently, highly regarded in the higher Planes of Existenance.
Dr. Ward (aka: The "Ward") just so happens to be one of the dozen or so entities that are currently inhabiting my body.
My Very Best Regards,
Nikola Tesla

Brrrrr, now that's really cold for the height of winter around here, but late November.. 😱 It's a balmy +2.7 C here right now, and I was outside in it all day..
A diy record cleaner is just the ticket for a cold winter's night sort of project, just make sure to get something that really sucks.. 😛 By that I mean a gnarly mini-shop vac or similar. I used a slightly modified centrifugal inflation pump (air mattresses and the like) in mine and barely get enough vacuum out of the thing even though it is compact. It is also extremely noisy, as in a risk to what is left of my aging hearing.. 😱

HI guys...
Well have finally got everything together for the "original 8". One further question though. Do you folks want to mount the nib yourselves? I found a less complicated method for the female bearing portion, not requiring any glue to be inserted to limit the range of motion of the arm. The pivots as I have made them results in a height too tall for most turntables, but can be easily cut. A locking collar (as seen in previous posts) should be used for the mount on turntables. They are cheap and easy to find pretty much anywhere.
After playing around for a few days, I end up with what I feel is a pretty respectable (albeit FUGLY) solution. Let me know. Packaging materials have been purchased and and shipping solutions that (I think) will work at a reasonable cost. (The first "quote" was CAD $65 to Texas, now $7.33 or so to Texas, as an example only). Packaging is a bubble pack "mailer". The arms/ headshells, pivot will be attached to cardboard, then inserted into the mailer. Total weight should be well under 1/4 lb. or about 225 grams.

payments for shipping...
is all that's required. PayPal or "email payments" (if your bank offers that), would be fine. If you want to pay something for materials, donate to a local food bank instead.

Looks like you are learning/improving with each tonearm you build.
Glad you found a solution to the high shipping/packing costs
Looking forward to getting my tonearm 'kit'
Thanks for all your hard work to make this last batch

+1
pre-mounted nib is great. Look forward to getting the arm into action. With 1cm of snow blocking my way out of the door - I desperately need something to keep me from going insane 😀.

1mm around here (snow I mean) didn't stop me.. 😛 It's warm and balmy here compared to the great white north, but it still ain't warm enough to suit me.. 😀
Side tracked lately. Got to order some tone arm wiring..

It's a little Canadian joke

guys, lost list.
please resend shipping information via PM or direct email to me.
I lost the list I had. I've decided to just supply raw pen nibs. It seems each may have their own ideas for mounting them. My idea will work, but cosmetically may not be up to other folks standards.. I will provide Sachin in India as complete an arm as possible, as access to some stuff may be difficult there. I have been looking through some old turntables to possibly send to him. Apparently in an analog deprived area ...
