Thanks hm!
I wonder if everybody can open up the file! I got some private messages from users who were not able to.
If you can't open it just post here or shoot me a pm with your email address I will send you the PDF version of it (unless I can figure out a way to shrink the PDF file down to the acceptable size for this board..in which case I will post it directly here!)
I hope people who read it so far enjoyed it!

Try this !
Thank's for your review !

You are welcome spiri. Just so you know your conversion to PDF cut some parts of my original text and also changed layout.
If I have some time tomorrow I will try to convert it in PDF within max allowed size!

Btw spiri, I didn't get a chance to tell you that your board is awesome...one if the best upgrade I have done lately!!!

The pdf is exactly a print of what i see in my openoffice3!
Stefano,
I've been following this thread and am really looking forward at receiving the two parts I ordered through Aliexpress even more, since I read your review. I hope the parts I will get, are the real thing.. but it's the only place I found I could get them easily and this is diyaudio after all.. 😀 I will still need a couple of weeks of patience though..
Thanks a lot for your review!

Stefano, if you are running balanced maybe you could also try the volume control from B.Putzeys on last Linear Audio? A comparison would be fun..
Spiris board does not offer a simple access to feedback attenuator of MUSES chip, which would fit for Putzeys application.
Putzeys design uses some high grade opamps; attenuator is integrated into feedback loop of one of them , therefore a direct comparison is impossible. You always will have additional opamps in signal path.

Hi Berny,
I'm looking forward to your implementation 😉
Grts,

I recommend a RC5 type remote control as Dantimax uses. There are plenty remote that work with it.
I currently run a Dantimax full balanced resistor volume control but would love to upgrade.
Is there a second rotary encoder to choose input?
Is there a possibility to rename inputs?
Good news!
The new software for the Muses board is finished.
You can use almost any remote control. Maybe there are some exotics we can't learn.
We have a mute function and an additional signal at the controller to switch a output relay for mute with the IR and a adjustable output delay after power up.
A additional rotary encoder for input selection is impemented, but must be free wired to vias on the controller board.
Look at the new datasheet on our website at.

THANK YOU Spiri!
As soon as I have my programmer I'll update the software
One more wish:
Another signal pin to switch a mains relais (not direct, via a transistor).
Idea is to have the controller under standby with switched off display and now use the remote to switch on the connected preamp circuit + Muses analog voltage plus display.... and vice versa
I am very excited to finally present my review on the Muses chip.
It took me quite some time to put everything together and in a presentable form.
I hope you folks will enjoy the reading.
Don't hesitate to ask any clarification and question....in the end...I really enjoyed reviewing this component on my sound system.
Sorry I had to zip the word document because the size was greater than what is allowed for this format on the attachment page.
Enjoy!
I'm just back from vacation, the MUSES-report is the fist thing that I found (here). Stefano, thanks, it's a good read 🙂

Hi Stefano,
Interesting report! Maybe a few tips on writing a report:
Lots of people will read it in isolation, not having read the whole thread. So it would make sense to have some introduction at the start and a conclusion at the end.
Generally, reports have three parts:
1 - say what you are going to talk about;
2 - talk about it;
3 - summarize what you've talked about.
That way it can stand on itself, also after months and years when the project is long past and someone finds it on the web.
In your report for instance never do you mention what the type of the chip is.
Also clearly put your name and how to reach you (if you want that).
Hope this helps,
jan
