Ok, improved the supply a bit. Better DC-DC.
total consumption...16mA on 230V~ mains.(with 2xDAC and metronome and +/-15V on Balsie) Sound is just very, very nice.
The separation is just awsome, I mean the depth of the sound.
Curious if the Buffalo will best it?
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

because of the DC-DC on the Balsie there is no plop-on/plop-off
noise. Dac is completely DC coupled.

I'm getting an OTTO. If I want to add 2 LED's to indicate which input was activated, how would i do that?
Thank you
Darren
Thank you
Darren
That's probably easier to do with the switch you are using to trigger the OTTO. Use a DPDT switch, one side to trigger OTTO amd the other to send power to LEDs.

Great Idea! Do you have any examples of a professional looking switch to use?
Thanks

I got my Opus board and USB module but can't finish due to a little mix up. I did get the USB module working stand alone and must say it absolutely kills any sound card I've heard. So I don't know how much better the wolfson is but the PCM2707 thats on the USB module is quite awesome especially for the price 🙂 I'll have to give listening impressions when I finally get the opus working. I went ahead and ordered a second Opus board and Metronome too they should be here Saturday I believe. After that I believe the only thing I could do better is get the Buffalo. For now I have the Opus mounted in a Radio Shack parts box.
Well I got the Opus up and running this morning (just single opus board no metronome just yet they should be here monday) Anyways sounds excellent my only complaint is that its not forgiving of recordings at all. Some stuff I thought was pretty well recorded isn't sounding so well recorded. Not sure if the metronome will help with it at all I guess I'll have to see. Stuff thats recorded well sounds absolutely awesome though.
Just wanted to specify that I didn't mean that the DAC was flawed obviously its the recordings 🙂 The DAC is wonderful. I just wish all my music was up to par.

That annoys me too. I want my lush dull sounding DAC back... hahah not!
I just thought I should add to the chorus of positive comments/feedback on the TP Opus Dac.
This weekend I finally got mine set up (Metro/Dual Opus/Ballsie) fed I2S from CDpro2LF. All separate supplies, psu offboard.
With about five hours of running and three of listening, this is a very musical and rewarding dac. Sweet.
And to that I shall add a cryptic note to Brian Donegan - a big thanks for your help.
Now, about that Buffalo...

Ok I just got my metronome and second opus board for dual mono. My question is how do you wire this up exactly? Do you feed the USB I2S out into the PCMIN on the metronome and run the output of the metronome to both DAC boards?
Yes. Leave out SCK from the USB to the Metronome. You will need to change the DAC jumpers for Dual Mono mode and rewire the outputs.
Ok another question but about how to wire the outputs. It says that the Right + is actually Left - and Right - is actually Left + so do I connect it to Right - and gnd for the left channel and left - and gnd for the right channel?
Ok then if I'm not using balanced connections then I'd just run 3 wires then? 1 to gnd and then 1 to left + and one to right -? Guessing I'd just run a jumper wire from the right - to left + and then the RCA connectors from there. This would be for the left channel of course.
