Moode Audio Player for Raspberry Pi

Hello...

Dusted off a Pi that's been sitting around, loaded it up and have been having great fun the past few days. Thank you Tim, for a great piece of work! Been trying out various USB dacs I have, with good success. Cheap no name someone gave me worked right off the bat, whIle the CL X-fi and X-fi HD didnt until the usb switch was flipped. Now, they all work.

On to my questions. You have in the list of working dacs, and in the config choices, the Buffalo II and III. I have a original Buffalo I. It has an I2S interface as well, hmmm, would it work? I tried it out, and yes it does work. But I'm wondering what the settings do? For want of something else, I selected Buffalo II.

Seems to work fine, aside from an rare burst of clear but loud audio for a fraction of a second. Don't know if it's a Volumite controller glitch, or something feed related. Might those dac settings have influence here? Other than that, it works great.

Another thing, it seems there's a bit of a pop or noise when starting or stopping a stream. (OnlY listened to streaming statons tonight after I got it working) I seem to notice smoother transitions with the other dacs, wI'll have to A/B that to be sure.

A funny little bug, now that I've switched from the USB to a I2S dac, is that the audio info box comes up completely as a mass of ASCI question mark symbols with occasional Japanese or Korean characters. Worked fine earlier. Wierd.

Well, that's the early Buffalo report... maybe it can be added to the known good list, but want to be sure... and be sure everything's config'ed right. Let me know if you want anything else tested...

Hi Tim,

I have two Pi zero W boards (v1.1) that I've been trying to set up with the IQ Audio PiDacZero hats.

I've run
Code:
sudo rpi-update 52241088c1da59a359110d39c1875cda56496764

which updates without any errors.

When I reboot, I have no led on the Pi and no network appears either in standalone or in g_ether mode on Windows as ssh on OSX wouldn't work after Internet Sharing was enabled.

I then removed the IQ-DacZero hats and repeated the process from scratch with the same result.

Do you have any ideas about proceeding from here?

thanks,
Julian

Fyi, this works as long as you don't do it in g_ether mode.

Remove the IqAudio Zero DAC, apply the kernel update, reboot, sort out the settings then shutdown. Attach the dac, boot and you're off.

Can I use Moode Audio as DLNA reciever

Dear Tim, first of all I would like to thank you for the excellent software, miles ahead of its peers. I am very happy using it with an attached HDD. However Now I have purchased a SEAGATE CENTRAL 2 TB device capable of DLNA streaming. However I find that MOODE has DLNA renderer service and NOT DLNA receiver. Is there any option to play music stored on my SEAGATE CENTRAL via DLNA protocol using MOODE ??

Thanks in advance

Have you tried the upnp renderer option, dnla is related to upnp ?

You need a DLNA control point like Linn Kazoo, Kinsky, Lumin ...

change the Dop rate ?

Hi,
I'm
First of all, i must say thank you for your outstanding work over the moode.
I am using a pi3 with hifiberry digi+, thought toslink or USB to PS AUDIO NUWAVE DAC. I found it is strange that i can play dsf file with usb normally, but toslink cannot make any sound(the web screen appears the file has being played). I anked the PS AUDIO,they told me that my dac's SPDIF can only support up to 24/192, while the the DAC's USB can support up to 32/384. MOODE's DSD OVER PCM is 24/352.8, sothat the dac cannot handles the digital stream.
Can I change the Dop rate to 24/192 ? Is there some option can adust the rate that I did not find it ?

best regards

Thanks for your reply. But can there be integrated with Moode ??
Not sure I understand your question, are you wanting a upnp/dnla in the Moode Web Front End?

Not sure if there is web implementation of a upnp control point.

If you are wanting the current track being played to be displayed on the web page then that happens as I think that Moode displays the MPD playlist submitted by the upnp renderer. However you cannot browse a dnla server and submit tracks to the playlist from it.

Although you can navigate the current playlist submitted by Kazoo etc it would be better to just use Kazoo.
