Moode Audio Player for Raspberry Pi

Hi,
I'm on a linux desktop here, and I can't establish a connection to the samba server of the pi. I can login via ssh, but that's uncomfortable.

Also, there's a more serious issue now. After rebooting, I can't start any music file, or webradio. What still works is streaming via airport, though.

This is the second time that that's happening. I tried another sdcard with a fresh moode.img, but it's happening again now.

When I click the play button, nothing happens. The mpd seems up:

Code:
pi@moode:~ $ systemctl status mpd -l
● mpd.service - Music Player Daemon
   Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/mpd.service; disabled)
Active: active (running) since Sat 2016-11-26 17:29:33 CET; 3s ago
 Main PID: 2130 (mpd)
   CGroup: /system.slice/mpd.service
           └─2130 /usr/local/bin/mpd --no-daemon /etc/mpd.conf

So, 70% 'signal' means bugger all, really, except that you can see your router pretty well without much interference.
This is why i added the example of a flac-file that was 200mb where it was not having problems vs the 11mb mp3 that had problems.
And the fact the samba protocol seems to have the problem where nfs's does not.

But thanks for your thoughts tho.

My router is fine the speed i get from and back to the pi is around 7mb/s-8mb/s aka aleast 84mbit and the server is connected with a cable.
Tho i have been testing more and found installing linux with mpd myself; it doesn't have a problem at all. So i tried volumio, coz i want a gui and this also works otb.

Hi,

I'm building a streamer-dac solution with moode as player on Raspberry pi 3 via i2s to a soekris dam1021.

At this moment I want to integrate the Moode's hardware volume control to send a signal through the serial connection to the dac.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks and greetings,

And for me, in half a dozen installations and many revs of Moode, it just works otb. If it was a bug, this would certainly have come up before now.

Never seen the kind of issue you're describing, the difference being: your network, your server, your hardware. Look to those.

Congratulations Tim, on the release of 3.0 ! Just when we think it couldn't get any better you make another round of improvements and tweaks that improve our listening pleasure and operating ease.

The simple 64fs overlay sounds great with my Es9018 DAC (Now that I've found and implemented your USB 2 player fix...😱🙂 How could I have missed it..)

Cheers,
Bob

mpd-config: connection to mpd failed

Hi,
I've been a moode user for a quite a while, though this is my first post here.

I just updated to v3, but cannot finish the setup as I get the mpd-config: connection to mpd failed message when trying to enter the mpd config or sources page.
I'm using a HiFiBerry DAC and a pi1b and have tried to write the sd card with both etcher and piwriter to no avail.
I've set the timezone, expanded the sd card, set the audio device to the HiFiBerry and rebooted in that order. But anything relying on the mpd gives me the error page.
On another note - when I click 'About' I get a #notarget appended to whatever url I'm at. Don't know if there's any relation?
Thanks to Tim for providing us with this awesome player, and to the forum for all the invaluable help!

Same here, i use a Pi2 and a Pifi DAC+. It worked with Moode 2.7 with Hifiberry Digi+ drivers but with 3.0 i get the same errors as Jeppe.
And also no 'About' page

What happens if you go through all the steps except expanding the SD card?
