Lorenzo, I have the same issue and look forward to a fix. MoOde works wonderfuly via a browser interface, but the MoOde UI never displays on the Official Raspberry pi 7' Touch Screen. The boot up and shut down messages do appear, but nothing after that.
Regards,
Jack
Don't know how many times we are going to have to answer this question before people learn to use the search function...
It's a web-based HEADLESS music player. The FIX would be for you to write a music player that wasn't headless...
It's like complaining that your router has no touchscreen interface - it isn't by fault or by omission or because Tim doesn't know how, it's by design.
Just because various purveyors of screen make one for the Pi, doesn't mean every Pi app has to be designed around one, any more than it should come with a camera
I had this sort of experience. Look back on my posts. Tim had posted a procedure that clears out the entry in the sql database. It can't just be me.... 🙁
When I try and add an SMB share, the system just sits there spinning its wheels.
After I make the SMB share change and update, I don't get any confirmation until I reopen a new Moode window.
Looking at 'top', I have multiple php5-fpm iterations running taking about 1.7% CPU each.
I can't access any configuration screens - just sits there spinning, spawning another php5-fpm thread.
If I walk away and come back fifteen minutes later, it's sometimes completed loading the configuration screen, but most often not. Can't do anything until a reboot (have to go via ssh - Moode reboot from the UI never happens).
Pi3, wifi, static IP, IQ Audio Dac+, sox high, time set to Pacific/Auckland, Sandisk ultra 8gb and Sandisk 128gb flash drive.
It seems that this always happens when I am playing around with NAS settings, which invariably error. Deleting the nas entry doesn't seem to work - when I finally get back into configuration, the previous entry is still there with a bid red X.
Dmesg and moode.log show normal boot and operation.
It looks like it's hung up on trying to validate my share.
Other than reflashing the SD, any ideas?

No problem. I understood it was headless, but saw the link about how to enable the display and then the proverbial AssUMe came into my thinking.
Yes I totally agree with you, but it would be really great to see usb device immediately after I plug it in. No need for mpd db update or indexing. It would be temporary device anyway. More like a shortcut to mnt/SDCARD...
Just like a regular player/computer/phone/tablet etc. What do you think?
Hi,
It could be a setting for example "Auto-update on USB insertion [Yes/No]" . I'll add to the TODO list.

Hi guys,
After trying Volumio (-> Too slow, problems with the NFS mount 😡), RuneAudio (-> Suddenly broke on a reboot 🙁 ) I am now with Moode and are quite pleased so far 🙂
The NFS mount did work, and even did work after the reboot (did not on the 2 other), the mpd library was populated (MPD stats give me 6000 songs; 17 days playtime), and the NAS shows up in the Browse Panel. I can use mpc search to find, add and play songs from the mpc library.
One thing unfortunately does not work:
The moode library (library tab) is empty, except for the one test song that came with Moode; therefore the Library is apparently working, however none of the songs from the NAS can be found in there.
Can you please advise?
Thanks a lot!
flyerathome 😱
EDIT:
I pressed Update MPD Library again; and -- it works!
Nevermind my post.
Hi,
Glad to hear that 🙂 FYI if you press Library tab before MPD db update completes, it will only have partial content. This is because it creates a cache file that is used thereafter instead of re-reading mpd database each time. The Library cache is cleared anytime MPD db is updated via the button or "Update this folder" selection in the Browse panel.

Never mind - reflash sorted it
You gotta lay off the Cuervo lol.
Hi all,
i have a strange problem with moode and my DAC Schiit Modi 2.
When i try to play RADIO streams, most of them generate only a sort of white noise.
Others are perfect... Never had problems with 44.100 flac and hi res flac.
Someone has the same problem? Thanks a lot.
Emanuele
Hi Emanuele,
Try the USB (UAC2) fix in System config screen.
-Tim
That's because iq Audio use hardware volume controls in their design. I'm not aware of a USB-connected dac that supports hardware volume.
Hi Mike,
There are USB DAC''s that support hardware volume for example my JDS Labs ODAC. The hardware volume controller is implemented in the USB receiver chip.

Hi,
The issue with Moode UI on the 7" Touch is that this display is 16:10 aspect ratio and Moode UI is designed for 4:3 a/r (iPad's). You end up with bottom part of UI cut off requiring scrolling. I briefly looked at some of the css to see if it would be possible to create a 16:10 a/r version but I didn't see any obvious way to do it.

Hi,
Just an FYI that no power in my area since Wednesday due to massive wind storm in SE Michigan that knocked out power to over 1M customers. There is a lot of roof, tree and other serious damage. Estimate is Sunday evening for power restoration to 90% customers.

CM6206LX.... and by inference, the CM6206.
All those cheap little eBay boxes.
Tim added support for h/w volume control a little while back.
Sorry to hear that, Tim, hopefully your home wasn't damaged! Good luck and stay safe and warm!Hi,

Running on the Zero W now for 24 hours. Get random 2 second cut-outs during wifi streaming (shairport or direct), and still trying to diagnose / get it to repeat consistently. Can go for >30 minutes without happening. Processor load seems around 17% during shairport. Anyone else see this? Zero is 10ft from my access point. Synced Pi3 2 rooms over never cuts out. Took a long time to build the library from my NAS (OMV) on the zero too. But I love it!
If used in a car environment where power is removed without warning multiple times every day, would moode and the sd card eventually get corrupted? Would be fun to marry this up with a car processor like the JL TwK-88 that has a spdif input.

Hi,
What kernel version?
-Tim
Zero W with a HifiBerry DAC+ 'clone'
ver: 1.1
Linux kernel: 4.9.13+
Architecture: ARMv6l
MPD version: 0.19.19
Hdwr rev: Unknown Pi-model
Streams BBC Radio 1 nicely BUT the volume is not as loud as when running off a Pi2
Kurt Cobain isn't making my ears bleed even when ALSA vol set to 100%........

Hi Tim, the Audiophonics modified version of Moose fits very nicely on the official 7 inch rpi display. Perhaps you could have a look at how they changed the CSS.Hi,

The whole last half of today I streamed from Tuneblade and the zero didnt hiccup once.. So cutouts definitely not repeatable..

Funny you should say that 🙂
I'll look up the sql hack - I suspect it's due to the amount of use that particular SD card gets - I move it around quite a bit. I'm going o start backing up configured systems to save time in future 🙂

I did a search before posting, but knew, deep down, I was setting myself up by posting that 🙁
On a semi-related note, just how many DAC's do you have and was your recent move to a warehouse space? 🙂
