Moode is not offering me the latest update. How do I force it to update?
Hi Phil,
Try clearing Browser cache.
I assume u are on 2.6 final and have already manually installed Updater.sh and installed the first update a while back that provides "CHECK for software update" in System config..
-Tim
Hi,
Crossfeed did not work with soekris dac
Also soekris firmware 1.06 did not work with Moode
🙁
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Crossfeed DSP is meant for headphone listening to compensate for the fatiguing "super-stereo" effect created when each ear is isolated. It creates a generic binaural effect which will sound more natural and more like listening to speakers.
-Tim
Yes, but if I enable crossfeed dsp there was no signal out at soekris dac.
Hi,
What is output from cmd below?
mpc outputs
-Tim
I don't understand your question
Hi,
The symptom "no audio" when Crossfeed enabled suggests that the post-update config steps might not have been done.
- APPLY MPD config
- Toggle Crossfeed DSP from disabled to 725 4.5 then back.
To troubleshoot this its necessary to ssh into Moode and run the command "mpc outputs".
1) ssh pi@moode (pwd=raspberry)
2) mpc outputs
-Tim
You're welcome, in have a jail broken iPad (with some sort of always show AirPlay tweak installed) and a stock iPhone.
I use a camera connection kit and a headphone dac setup on both in bed and I experience the same on my iPhone where after a reboot with the CCK already connected the AirPlay dialogue doesn't show... I also get the same if wifi is turned off however in both instances audio is routed to the dac anyway...
I as a totally random musing, l envisage pairing with and a2dp audio Bluetooth device would bring the menu up also as would plugging in headphones in some bizarre scenario 🙂
Try the "boom"'iOS app as an equaliser app (local files only) it's absolutely amazing with headphones and AirPlay... Also if you're jailbroken "equalizer everywhere" is great from Cydia and will EQ system wide
Back too moode anyway 😉

Mucho thanks. I had rebooted the devices and had tried the Music app before doing it but not again after the reboot. I recalled it had to be used once.
Both iPad and iPhone now do AirPlay from Spotify.

Fantastic update all smooth on RPI3 + HifiberryDAC+PRO. Kudos to Tim for the effort of developing Moode. Love it.
Newbie to Rpi as source. I apologize if this is well known already, but I can't figure out how to let Moode output 24-bit through USB to my USB DAC (an old Grace Design m902). When I play 24-bit music, the audio info screen says it's decoded to 24-bit, but output is still 16-bit (with resampling off). Is there a way to lift the restriction? My dac accepts 24/96 through USB.

Hi,
Please post Moode log.
1) ssh pi@moode (pwd=raspberry)
2) ./mlog.sh

Nice facility, not to appear ungrateful though can I suggest a change. I tend to listen through speakers most of the time and only dig out the headphones when the boss goes to bed.Hi Daniel,

What would be nice is if the Crossfeed is toggled off and on as one setting and the frequency is another setting. Then you can have a toggle button on the play page to enable/ disable Crossfeed when you need it rather than digging through the config page.

Do you remember when me/somebody asked to add the music bitrate to the UI? (e.g. under the album cover)
Or an equivalent way to easily recognize if it's playing a flac or mp3 / lossless or lossy.
Wasn't this added or my memory is doing jokes?
I seem to remember seeing it at some point?
or maybe it's there only for radios?
I'm far from moode right now, that's why I'm vague 😀

update 2016-07-10
Tim:
This morning, I updated two Moode Players from "Package date: 2016-06-27" to the yesterday's "Package date: 2015-07-10".
The install process itself went smoothly. I now have the new stations, the Crossfeed DSD feature, a new Peripherals section to System Config, etc.
Like challenge, however, I don't get correct update info on the About page or via mlog.sh but with a subtle difference between the two players. After several reboots, I still get
Host 1: RPi2B, HiFiBerry DAC+:
From ./mlog.sh output, "worker: Upd (None)" and on the About page, "Update: ()"
Clicking "System Configuration/Check for software update" returns
Host 2: RPi3B, USB DAC:
From ./mlog.sh output, "worker: Upd ()", and on the About page, "Update: (null)"
Clicking "System Configuration/Check for software update" returns
Needless to say, /var/www/update-r26.txt is correct in both cases since it's simply a file dropped in place during the update process.
It's always possible I've done something during experiments on my players that causes this asymmetry but I didn't keep good notes🙁
As a separate FYI, when I click "MPD Configuration APPLY" per item 6a) in your update instructions, my browser displays "mpd-config: connection to mpd failed" on an otherwise blank page (Chrome, URL http:// moode/mpd-config.php). I understand how this happens but it's not what an enduser would expect.
Love your continuous improvement process. Big thumbs up!
Regards,
Kent

Hi,
Good idea but where to put the button on UI as it is displayed on iPhone?

Hi,
Turn on Enhanced metadata in Customize and the bit rate for radio stations or encodedAT rate for song files will be displayed under the cover art. This was feature in Moode 2.6 release.

Hi Kent,
Do u have debug logging turned on?
-Tim
Hmmm. Cleared browser cache in the process of working on something else. Now on both hosts, clicking "System/Configuration/Check for software update" returns
but on Host 1, it's followed by "Last installed None" while, on Host 2, it's followed by "Last installed Package date:" The underlying mlog.sh output remains the same.
Sorry for the hurky jerky postings. I've been jumping back and forth between this and "real world" work. Not paying enough attention to either!

What about a "headphone on/off" button? Add it on the "Volume control" overlay pane?
Hi,
That could work 🙂
I'll investigate.

I was going to say no, but turns out I do have debug logging enabled on both. What might I look for?
