those look great. I would be very happy with something that good looking in my house....
well, with a few more practice pairs, who knows?
Dave,
One Twinned tower cabinet/room should be enough for most folks, eh? 😀
From my limited understanding this "beast" will be able to play louder definitely; specially with 4 ohms CHR-70s parallel wiring will be possible (making it possible to run some of the drivers as 0.5). Probably have a wider sound stage and even more room filling sound vs the standard edition.
What else in terms of sonic benefits? And would placement become trickier?

Epicure MT-75 is the "original" speaker, right?
Found one for sale in Sweden for 1200SEK, ~$190

Well, the "original" that I'm familiar with would have been the 1973 model
HUMAN Speakers: EPI Microtower 1 information
This was a very turbulent decade in terms of speaker manufactures popping up like weeds - some quite long lived, others not so much.
The Epicure MT75 could well have been a re-badging of either the MT1 (dual 4" "woofer") or MT2 ( same driver with addition of pair of 1" inverse dome tweeters)
Thanks for the answer, chris.
The ones that are for sale looks just like the ones on the picture. I could not identify any drivers since the cloth was on.

It would be really cool to stick one of those old bipole Linaeum tweeters on top of a tower loaded with EL70s.

Probably too much money except for a collector

Yeah, like i thought.
Well, i'm trying to make my dad build a pair of the 4-driver speakers in either this page or the page before that.
We've been looking at some builds at Troels-Gravesen but they're all too tall. 85cm is the tallest they can be.

Micro Towers are 84cm tall IIRC.

Yup, and they're too tall i just realised. Only have 78cm space to use 🙁
So close... moving the terminus to front (side or back) would allow an 81 cm build.
At the sacrifice of some bass, you could likely exchange the needed 3 cm for a bit more cross-section.
what drivers?

We were thinking EL70. But could do with any other driver as long as driver cost for a pair of speakers don't exceed the price of eight EL70.
I don't think fostex is a good choice. Not markaudio either. The sound quality doesn't have to be better than EL70, but what we need it the ability to fill up a quite large room (could get some pictures some day) with concrete walls and a big opening on one of the longer sides (speakers will stand on the other long side, pictures coming).
Right now he has a pair of Olle Mirsch OM-61, speakers from the 80's (i guess) with two 8" woofer per speaker, a 3" midrange and a tweeter located on the top. They can play very loud, and with quite good bass pressure and spread the sound well. But the quality of the sound isn't that good really. The soundstage is really diffuse and the sound lacks warmth and "pressure" in the upper bass and lower midrange.

You did know that an EL70 is a Mark Audio driver?

Well, afaik the EL70 has a little more "party-factor" and can take a little more beating than the other markaudio drivers can.
True

And since he is 48 years old and his ears aren't that good (carpenter who dislikes ear-protection) i'd say he doesn't need such good drivers.
But for now we're looking at a center speaker instead to start off with...

Whatsat, sonny? - your presumption of deficiencies of his broken down old ears (or more precisely the auditory system's net resolution capabilities ) could be mistraken a bit
You'd be surprised at how much a middle aged carpenter who'd never consider himself a "golden eared audiophile" can resolve - we've got guys in the shop who can tell when you forgot to oil the air sander or when the band saw blade you're using is dull from the sound 20ft away.
Seriously though, EL or CHP70 would allow use of multiples of the same driver across the entire front row (I'm a big fan of that), augmented with separate woofers as required.
