I have read very little that is favorable about that cabinet. It doesnt seem to match any popular notions, not that it matters.

Something like #823 is what i am interested in. Dual AN15 in a 1.5 way.
PSSST!

lol. A 15" on an 18" wide baffle = yuck.
Just 1 driver probably will roll off below 600hz.
Getting the woofer dialed in passively will be tricky, but you could use a 6db active crossover with a bunch of woofer boost.
Even then the woofer crossover point would be far below the main driver.
And the woofer should move a bunch of air compared to the main (more xmax).
For the price of the an15, I'd use a different woofer, maybe even the silver iris woofer, a longer xmax eminence, or even the IB dayton 15".
But hey, maybe not !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look into how the silver iris does it.

I think once you put the cost of postage into the equation then factor in the cost of a more complicated crossover network the price difference is usually quite close..
In my case it worked out cheaper buying two pairs of AN15s rather than going with 1 pair of AN15 and 1 pair of Eminence.
PHY baffle is a great baffle, hard to beat for a single driver.
Once you go 1.5 it opens the door for more options.

Silver Iris Augie is only 88dB
how are those drivers hooked up ?
A honker inductor across the 15's ?
response looks really good except that 10db hike past 1khz and 10db hump around 300hz.
I'm not sure the huge ob will help it much.
Flat to 45hz, what more do you want out of it ?

Yeah I didn't optimise it at all. I just threw at it what I had laying around.
It will look much better on the PHY baffle guaranteed

it will go deeper, but the 300hz and 1khz+ won't be different (I think).
That is basically a 2-way, kind of apples to oranges comparing it to a single 15 on a huge baffle.

I am almost certain it will improve significantly.
Do you remember how bad the Seas was under similar conditions?
It wasn't until I put it on the PHY that everything smoothed out

It is 1.5.5 not 2 way
I am not comparing it to single 15.
I only upload it because Buzz is also doing 1.5 not single 15"
In any case the PHY baffle is clearly better

but the an10 +2 x an15 looks real flat 100hz-1khz (minus that crossover hump at 300hz).
Crossover 6db ? You may want to lower the low pass an octave............
but you are right, it is a fullrange driver plus bass assist.
To me, I get nervous when a woofer goes so high, but if it works..........

Well remember it is not a woofer. It is a fullrange woofer excellent in its own right, manufactured with the same construction, so tonally it is very similar to the 10" so it should mate fairly seemlessly, and indeed it does. The crossover needs more work though
I agree it would be nice to low-pass around 100Hz to 150Hz, and with the PHY baffle I will predict that will be the case
The filters are just Inductors (ie 1st order)
