Marantz MA9S2 choke input power supply

Not critical as long as it exceeds 180mH. If the current is known it's easy to calculate the critical inductance for choke input.

I don't really see the point of obsessing about that choke. It's contribution to the overall sound is quite minor imho.
Hi. It is no problem for me that it has some tolerance but also there is a voltage drop on the choke. It should be calculated true Imho.

It may easily be 1H and 8ohms and it will make no discernible difference. Have done lots of listening tests with and without chokes in SS circuits. Choke input vs cap input as well. They all sound a little different from each other but the presence of a choke does not necessarily bring an improvement.

For chokes I already have 6 pcs of these R core transformers. Afaik they were removed from an old oscilloscopes and does not have a usable voltages so maybe we can wind it for chokes? It seems similar results may be achieved
