bass against the wall and lower mid little bit of the wall.

around 80hz room hits hard between floor and roof.
12" low mid is .16 qts and it sits 32L (minus woofer) box
measurements has no eq what so ever
first looks to xo is i might need to do 140hz between these which make quite narrow range to 12"
140-450hz :)

I have ordered big brand wavequides but looks like they are not able to provide it to me.
I´ve waited them three months, gave them time end of this month to deliver (4months)

If i´ll get them i might test system as full BMS and if not this setup will last somewhat dampened ob fst top of the bass "thingy"

15" legis delta sounds better than this low end

i´m calling it a day. tomorrow i have to get some bitum mat, heard some resonances when playing loud. quite thin composite material they are.

tpl isn´t so easily located with this guide, got some stuff, i have to measure what it´ll do if tpl were front of fst.

fst got -5,8db shelf on 720hz, now this can be played insanely loud, i mean my worklight blowed when i was playing just right side speaker

Funny enough, I'm exploring a similar notion, also with a TPL-150H and horn-loaded midrange cone plus direct radiotars for bass/sub. Someone suggested placing the TPL inside the midrange horn as you are doing, and frankly I am concerned with the reflections one is likely to get from placing such a large object (TPL) in front of the midrange driver. How does it sound?

That is a wide midrange horn you have there! 76cm.

It seems the horn is not increasing much the sensitivity of the FST in the upper frequencies, say above 1kHz, right? It is clear sensitivity increased in the 300-800 Hz region, though.

I listened to manninen's new horns shortly. The setting in the DSP were not quite optimal, there is some things to be experimented regarding delay/phase and EQ settings. But all things considered they sounded quite ok. The tweeters integration was good when they are used as "nested horns", but the effect to the mids freq response is another story. I don't presume this is the best compromize to prioritize the sound localization/point source-ish radiation over the freq response of the mids, at least based on the measurements we took there. If the "acoustic footprint" of the nested TPL200 could be made smaller, then said compromize would be more tempting.

Maybe the biggest problems are the room related problems in the upped bass and lower mids region, which makes the region to sound colored with acoustic instruments. The room does not shake hands with closed box woofers. There was also something odd/too much power was in the ~1khz region also, which was maybe related to nested horn setup. In general the sound balance was slightly off, at least compared to my reference (Hifiman HE400S and my synergy horns).

My second biggest complain was the sound was not very transparent, to which I'm addicted to and is the culmination why high end speakers exist. There was a curtain between the listener and music, and all those general ephemisms... Drivers are good with manninen's setup, the culprit is elsewhere. One cannot also disregard room acoustics. I like think the system as a whole, as a system, weakest link and all that bs. The weakest link in the signal chain decides the ultimate transparency the system is capable of.

This is not a complain since I know manninen's preference towards a dark-ish sound. I prefer more neutral approach. Acoustical istruments did not have their natural high frequency content/harmonics and sounded muffled. Upping the HF to a more "neutral region" would also improve the felt transparency, resolution and quality of the sound at least to my liking. but one does not fine tune the systems to one's friend ears of course :D. Sometimes it's also the quality of HF (or lack of) what makes people to drop down their HF level. I know this from personal experience.

The speakers have more potential and they have not yet been with manninen for long. Better room would do wonders, more finalized settings to dsp also. I would like to hear the system in more finalized form and when the TPL is not in front of the mid horn.

Next time let's make my synergies sings some songs.
