I would also be interested in the answer.

Not a choke loaded supply and no inductance but would like to know if there are any drawbacks if LT4320 rectifier is used e.g. with Salas UltraBib where 0.22-0.47R between rectifier and 6800µF capacitor is in place?

Or could the additional 0.22 - 0.47R resistance be neglected, similar as when a high ESR cap would be used after LT4320 recifier?

LT4320 has a minimum operating voltage of 9V at its DC output (or input, rather) according to its datasheet. To my understanding that would be the minimum voltage needed for its gate drives and comparators to work properly. The datasheet also requires a minimum of 10uF bypass capacitor right at its DC input terminals (equivalent to the rectifier output). If using any impedance before the bulk filtering capacitors, R or L, it's probably a good idea to fit that 10uF cap, and make sure the instantaneous voltage across the 10uF cap never goes below 9V during normal operation.

Thanks for pointing that 9V minimum out. For 5v Out the Salas Ultrabib requires 10-12V In. Thats not far from 9v if ripple is taken into account.
The LT4320 datasheet shows „OUTP Undervoltage Lockout (UVLO) Threshold“ of 6.2-7V. Which I understand would make LT4320 stop working if OUTP falls below this voltage.

It is time to buy an oscilloscope.

I may decide for CRC to be on the safe side.

^ I am FAR from an expert. With that said in advance, I was pointed toward an exceptional series of posts clearly indicating that the snubber circuit was not necessary with the LT4320. It may nor may not be worth reading a long series of posts for you.

Here is a statement within this thread from the designer himself.

Edited to add - that covers CX, CS, and RS. C1 and C2 are 220uF / 100V parts in my builds.
