Hi Harley,
I’m glad you like the Sig 50’s and you will love the 80’s as well. The cabinet production on those is wrapping up and drivers will be installed next.
I did not design the LSA floor standing speakers - at least none in production, yet.
Steve Gutenberg just put the Signature 50’s on his top list of best speakers under $1500.

I had been looking at the speakers for a while, I saw his review when it 1st popped and I ordered right away. If the 80's are next level then I'm buying as well.
I'm driving them with a Schiit Aegir(s) in mono block with the Frey+....thinking to add the LSA Voyager GAN 350 or the warp one...any advice here...I also have a pair of Gallo 3.1 reference speakers that may get one as well.
Thanks again!

Thanks! You will love this amp. It’s one of favorites. Can drive basically any speaker and deliver incredible bass grip.
Tomorrow the amp is here, looking to grab the next set of speakers, the 80's you designed are most likely it. How much of an difference would you say they are. Lots of choices around that price point. The 50's are fantastic, at the price nothing comes close for sure, just wondering how the 80's or the many builds you have on here stack up...in love with the 50, the Bass is game changing. Thanks!
The 50’s are fantastic but the 80’s have a more refined sound provided by a low distortion aluminum woofer plus a planar tweeter. Planar tweeters generally have a bit more air while remaining smooth.
I am getting ready to take the XSDs to production over the next 5-6 months.
The 80’s will be ready to ship in maybe a month.
I also have some small bookshelf speakers that pay homage to the LS3/5A (but sound better). Those are the Vanguards and will be available in about a month. Perfect for smaller office or bedroom. You can read about their reviews by SBAF tour members here.

I after a day with my Warp 1 driving the 50's and A/Bing with my Schitt Aegir Mono block amps (everything connected with balanced cables, Denafrips Ares II, Freya+, Sony transport ) I'm very happy.
The Schiits do seem to have a bit more top end and a tad more upper mid bass, but it's very close.....and only on some cd's. Really impressed with the amp. The speakers are probably the best deal out there, the amp a close 2nd. As such I'm a fan of your work.
The 80's if more of the same but better, I'm hard pressed not buy, Certainly replacing all my vintage stuff is now on the table. Next week is to drive my Gallo 3.1 with the Warp 1. I read your posts in the Thomas review to answer some skeptics, very informative!
My main source of listening is 70's,80s,90's - current Rock music, I love depth, bass, soundstage and dynamics. Low level listening as I work but a guitar player and often crank it to play along. The better the stereo the more like playing with a live band. That is what I'm after, If you have any recommendations, I'm all ears. Now that I have sampled your work in home at the entry price points, I'd like to explore the higher levels. Thank You!

Hi Harley,
Thank your for the kind words and glad you are enjoying your new gear. 🙂
How did you find the bass on the Warp-1 vs the Aegir? Some folks on SBAF compared it to their Aegir here. Look for member spwath and his comparison.
If you want to crank it up and play along in guitar perhaps take a look at the XSD (it’s got its own thread on my forum) speaker. It’s in prototype stage now and I’m working up the production logistics on it. You can listen to recordings of it on my YT channel.

I think as I run 2 Aegirs in mono that accounts for the difference in the other comparison, the bass is similar, but an edge to the mono blocks. The sound is surprising and is close to the same... as of right now I've only a/b ed with the 50's and my restored JBL L100...I have 4 full systems so will test in each( Gallo 3.1 and Klipsch Quartet's). It may be that differences in preamps, obviously speakers will have impact
I can see that for most people the Warp 1 is THE choice - price, power draw, 2 ohm stable, most importantly sound... I most likely will replace the Aegirs with the Warp 1 - I can leave on all day at low cost and get a little rack real estate back, no heat either. I see you have other amps in development, coming to market so interested in those... too bad you can't mono block the Warp 1, beast as it is , would be a monster!..That Emerald amp looks awesome too.
I, unfortunately, can't do DYI right now as work is round the clock ( In front of the PC) and much travel, So I'll have to buy as finished items....I feel confident in your designs that I can finally let go of my vintage gear...Now to wait for availability in production...

We have a 100W Class A monoblock in the works called the LSA SuperNova. Proof of concept has been demonstrated. It is a single ended Class A balanced output choke loaded amp using a static induction transistor (SIT) and is based on my SuSyLu amp described here. It’s under development as pre-production prototype. It’s got a SSR soft start, SSR speaker protection from DC, and front end topology of the production unit will use Aksa Lender by Hugh Dean.
You can listen to it in mono here:

Wow, very nice, Beast for sure!! Any Idea on the price ball park ? expected availability?
Most likely would send my tube amps packing.

New review of the Signature 50’s just came out:

Great Review, I'm still blown away by them. Unreal speakers, unique. Top recommended by me for sure too.
Some measurements of the Signature 50’s when used on a “bookshelf” close to a rear wall. Stuffing the port with some open cell foam (or a sock 🙂 ) can reduce the boominess that might accompany a close-towall placement. Listening to it 6in away from back wall with the sealed vent sounded nice and balanced.
Note that for frequencies below 400Hz, the response is dominated by room modes and mic placement at 0.5m may or may not reflect what one hears at listening position. The bass actually extends deeper based on near field quasi-anechoic measurment.
Signal chain: REW software via USB connection to SMSL SU-9n DAC, to HyperDrive-2 preamp, to Warp-1 power amp. Rms voltage measured with Fluke 115. UMIK-1 USB measurement microphone calibrated by CrossSpectrum Labs. Dr. Meter MS10, SPL meter to calibrate microphone absolute SPL response.

I'm using them as nearfield monitors. About four and a half feet apart, three and a half feet from my face, and barely five inches from the wall. I stuffed the ports with springy open-cell foam (and covered them with black gaffer tape to make the foam blend in visually).
Really impressive sound, easygoing but detailed, warm but not overly euphonic. The LSA Signature 50s are being driven by a NAD C 700 streamer-amplifier running Roon over wifi. An SVS Micro 3000 subwoofer provides the bottom octave. I prefer the 50s over every other speaker I've had on my desk, including 1st- and 2nd-gen pairs of KEF LS50s Wireless, Monitor Audio Bronzes, and JBL L52 Classics. The LSAs are a crazy good value. Congrats on a job well done.
I ordered the LSA 50's a couple of weeks ago and hoping they will get delivered some time later this month. I am also looking for a new amp to drive these speakers. I have a limited budget. Hoping to keep it less than $500 for the amp. Was thinking about the XTZ Edge A2-300. I also have an old Adcom GFA 555 ii that is in the shop getting new Capacitors installed. It will be interesting to see how it sounds after the work has been completed. I was wondering your thoughts on a budget amplifier pairing??I designed the Signature 50 speaker for LSA quite a few months back but it’s finally starting to roll off the assembly line and will be shipping soon.
It’s a 6.5in 2-way bass reflex that uses a premium 28mm silk dome tweeter, and I gave details of some of the measurements earlier in the What’s on the Bench Tonight thread.

Custom crossover uses inverted passive Harsch topology of my design. All high quality parts like pure copper wire inductors, and custom made film caps and non inductive wire wound resistors:
