I admire your thoughts Davada....

Thanks.

Here are some caps to look at,
I included some others for size comparisons.

Dimitri, possibly something attached, the little blue guy.
Scott, not bad if they don't look like the little blue guy.

And of course I couldn't find the mm rule, that would be
to easy, so imperial measurements they are.

Cheers,

Sync

This is just great ! I finally get to contribute something and now I realize that
in less than .1% of the total posts in this thread, i.e. ; the last 100 posts you've been telling
some guy to start another thread and he gets all pissy and leaves now we just go back
to the first post and that will work?

Ok, I'll go back to organizing the bench...but it feels worse than waterboarding....
until it gets finished. : )

And we can use a .1 % oscillator.

What am I missing?

Wasn't this the thread that spawned the HP 339A mods?
And Richard on his quest and he turned us all on to
some good gear? And Davada in his quest then wanted
to do the SVO? And some other guy who was going to make
boards and such but now they are about 1K USD?
And now we are back to .1% and 12.95USD plus shipping.

Oh My BAD...I stopped reading around post 2500!
Then returned to read the last .1 percent.

Sorry guys I just couldn't help myself. : )

Well at least I summarized the low-lights. : )

his fingers from the keyboard.

Hi Sync,
How about a picture of your bench how it was, and what it is cleared off. The before shot gives people an idea of what you have to fit in there.

The age old problem, what the heck do I keep on my bench? ... and how to I access the other stuff I have when I need to use it?

we need a low noise sharp cutoff filter design to see how it improved ultra low thd generators, as well.

Unfortunately the low noise can't be met with sharp cutoff active filters. As found in the Shibasoku 725 the 9th order 20kHz is too noisy to be of any great use other than perhaps digital measurements.

HP used a 7th order LC passive filter in the 3581C. Each section has to be tuned. This would only be good for a fixed frequency.

I think a high Q tunable BP filter would do the trick.

You have one of those coming.

yes, I do. Just to see how well it works for this app.

The noise isnt an issue much with FFT. Either BP or LP seems to be workable.

Maybe a VCA as basis for tunable filter.
