Being more into tubes than transistors I can´t help smiling when I read this discussion, a single new old stock AD1 och RE604 triode from the thirties can easily go for 500 bucks or (much) more on Ebay. Makes me wonder what these Jfets will cost a few decades from now...😉

tubes are outa fashion !

who cares for them !!

( pssst have you any 10Y or EC8010/20 just laying around,collectin' dust ......... ?)

:devilr:

Naturally the prices are set by the supply and demand situation.
Those tubes are over priced, other less expensive tubes can do the same work as good as an AD1 or any other old tube.
Why would be a tube from the thirties-forties work better than one from yesterday? Are any nicer looking electrons flying in there? Beside the LU1014D jFet amp have the potential to sound better than any triode amplifier, simply because it doesn't use an output transformer.

Australian buy

Hello All, I wonder if someone might recommend the best way to currently get some matched Lovoltech devices here in Australia? Is it still reasonable to mail Grey directly or are they available here for purchse from some thoughtful soul?

Kind regards, Trevor in Adelaide.

Dear Grey,
I have been interested in ZV9..but have not been able to
access this site becuase of moving from US to Korea..
I was read only... couldnot afford to do DIY here. that makes me unable to use email button under the gorup buy notice you posted. (account under moderation.. :bawling: )
But things changed to do some DIY and started some shoppings to make ZV9...🙂 🙂 🙂
Waiting for being able to use the email button...

Grey ran out of JFET's a while ago, this is AFAIK the only source right now.

Are there many people still interested in these??? I believe I can procure some still, & match them, and make them available (I have some resources). Looking at data/info sheets I've noticed there are several versions, I assume the sought after one is the LU1014D???

ps... if this happens it will be in the Vendors section (I just haven't set that up yet)

I've got a lead on some lu1014d's (the last ones I saw got snatched up already), I also have a possible lead on the ld1014d which is the same specs (not the the 1010, it isn't) but in a D-Pak instead of an I-Pak, they seem interchangeable

...actually I just found a thread referencing it...

Pricing.... I don't know yet, I haven't had a quote come back yet & I still have to haggle (but we're very competitive)
