If I can get the bottom end to fill in properly once the W-15's arrive, they will probably be for sale! 😉
They are nice too! ALK Crossovers, Elliptrac tweeter horns with B&C DE10s, bedliner damped K400s, Crites cast woofers and custom Rosewood veneer. 😎
.....I didn't meant buying, I thought you discarded it 😀😀😀😀
>I built the "Big Baffle" plans on the Liu-aui site for the L-15's. I could not be happier!
Even with some moderate Google-fu, I was unable to find the Liu-aui site nor "Big Baffle"...
I could only find "Big Betsy"...
Anyway, glad you like them! I've got mine on a big baffle (of my own design) too and would like to see what you have.

IF the calculator I grabbed was correct and my input ballpark, then that curve shows super low Qes -- ? It would be better to have Re taken lower than 10Hz.
Sd "might" have been given in wrong units as could be square inches.
crazy stuff.
double check that curve and method
anyone messing with speakers ought to have an automated speaker parameter device.

... curious about the discrepancy about the Q ...
One should expect differences.
Where different techniques/SW method pick the numbers off the curves, and the weather. Further, according to the authour, DATS is one of those tools that estimate sthe parameters from the curves, not a direct measurement.

hey GM
Thanks!
Using published Cms, BL, Re to reverse engineer Sd, then used HR to calc the rest:
851 cm^2 Sd
6.56 Re
51 Hz Fs
151.8 L Vas
3.97 Qes
8.29 Qms
2.68 Qts
Using the impedance plot, I can't find my notes now, just recall it being around a 0.31 Qts = silly published data!

Pretty smoothed...............
That's an understatement! 😀
And polars would show how much beaming ... which is probably quite extreme given the size of the cone... 🙂
Here's the rest of the screen grab
Like I said, pure BS/silly! No Sd or effective diameter, 13.7 gr Mms! Maybe the whizzer is! A 5.92 BL, not strong enough to get out of its own way!

Lii f-15
Very interesting discussions on the f-15. I will keep reading hoping someone will work out what the dimensions of the smallest vented cabinet these could be put in. I’ve been tempted to cut them in the sides of my super pencils to see what bad happens. The cabinet Lii suggests I could be buried in and would be after my wife saw them in the house.

But, then again......
I had huge luck with 10 band eq and a 12" whizzered fane 250tc.
Eq'd it for off axis and that gave a relatively large listening area.
I saw a pair lii 15's in boxes for sale in dubuque, iowa, $900 in big boxes.
GREAT vinyl playback system - electronics - by owner - sale

those WT3 plots suggest good success with a small open baffle.
OT - wish there were a group buy to see if Eminence could do something meaningful to their 12LTA such as a stronger motor for starters. (Hammer had the same feeble magnet - dunno about its pole piece) I would not expect a mod 12LTA to have much if any improvement on the top end - mainly better "attack" and ability to use smaller boxes by dropping qts to ~0.31. Fane has Eminence beat badly for HF extension - brilliant work w. 12-250TC

I think there's error in translation....
There is a Sd of 146.5 cm2 mentioned, but obviously, that's not the Sd of a 15" driver, so it looks like a file swap between drivers.
fwiw I took the 13.7g (says 13.5g as the mass they added to their non existent graph to shift parameters "down" - - that hardly is enough)
the Z shown has low qts and 3mH inductance
also the 146.5 as "square inches" - not impossible with narrow surround
it can be whatever one wants it to be !😛
probably a great driver but specs up in the air other than WT3 indicating unsuitable for
ordinary box applications
